Ive been searching what people think about Pro Comp tires on here, and it seems people dont like em too much, lol. I have been looking for some decent used tires, but havent really found too much (in my area). I know a guy selling 5 35x12.50-15 Pro Comp A/T tires with like 7k miles on them, for $475. Me being broke, I cant really afford new tires. Whats some of your thoughts on the tire vs price? I currently have Pro Comp Xterrains that arent too bad. My old tires (goodyear MT/Rs) were A LOT better.. but they're rather expensive for my wallet. This truck is my daily vehicle, and i dont do a whole lot of extreme offroading with it, but i would like to get into some mild stuff with it sometime. (tuttle creek ORV park in kansas) Would A/Ts do alright offroad, or are they mainly for soccer moms in their grand cherokees?

 

Any bfg a/ts in your area.. i love those tires.. and if you balance and align them properly you can get em to last at least 50-60k.. My father's tundra has had them last on average of 75k miles.. and ive heard procomp tires are garbage as well

 

I usually dont keep a vehicle long enough to put 50k miles on it, lol. Ive owned this yota for almost 2 years now, and thats a record for me! But for some reason, im finding its very hard to get bored with this truck. almost 2 years later, and i still love it. I used to be on a new car every 5 months, cycle.
I havent really found any decent tires in my area. Most tires i do find are for 16" or 16.5" rims.

 

Why not buy new BFG's? If you buy new cars/trucks every 5 months, you can afford a good set of tires for your truck of two years, you will be happy you did too!

Because i sell one car to buy another, or trade straight across, lol. Thats how i got my Yota. After i lost my license for 3 years, i traded my awd turbo talon straight across for this wonderful machine.
I bought my ninja for my gf, thinking she could help pay for it, and whatnot, THEN she lost her job, so i have about 1500/month worth of just bills now. So used tires is all i can afford right now. I wish i could afford new tires, for if i could, there wouldnt be this thread, haha.

 

I was looking at tirerack.com, and it looks like the wrangler MT/R has better ratings than the bfg mud terrain

I used to have the wranglers on my truck, and i really liked them. Are the BFGs better tires in mud/offroad?
I get a christmas bonus next week, and instead of paying off credit cards, i think i might just buy me some NEW tires..

 

I just got a set of ProComp Extreme A/T's and I love them. They have handled great in the mud and snow. When I bought them they were buy 3 get 1 free so that kind of inspired me. Haven't been disappointed yet, but I only have about 7-8K on them I guess I'll see how they hold up.

 

the mudterrains are loud.. and reaally drop your mpgs and are not good if its a daily driver.. the bfg a/t ko are great

 

I dont really want A/Ts though. I drive my gf's car a lot too since it gets 30 mpg, so in a way its not my only vehicle. I dont care so much about teh loudness. I can easily space out and ignore things. My old S10 had some loud ass retreads on it, and after like a week i didnt even notice, lol.

 

I think ima try out the BFG Mud-Terrain T/A KM2 tires. Im finding the 35s are cheaper than 33s, so i guess 35s it is, lol.

 

You're looking to get 35's and you don't even wheel?? I see stock Tacoma/4Runner wheels with good tread on them going for less than $400 on craigslist all the time. The stock 31's will help with the MPG's and a better ride. Save the 35's and M/T's for when you will actually be wheeling all the time.

 

I do wheel. Just not everyday. I plan on going to the Tuttle Creek ORV park in Kansas next weekend. I havent been able to get out and wheel for a while since my tires have been ty. Plus theres not a whole lot of places around here.

 

Well i just ordered the new BFG Mud terrain TA KM2 tires. 35x12.50. $881 shipped to my house. My friend owns an auto shop, and has a tire machine. Not a great one, but it will work, lol. My brother is tech at the local toyota dealership, so then its going off to get aligned and the wheels balanced (for free of course, lol).
On the 13th i plan on taking the truck down to Tuttle Creek ORV park in Kansas. So hopefully the tires come in by then. Im pumped to see how it will look on 35s, and how it does at an ORV park!
