Need Bridgestone Dueler Revo advice
Hey all ~
FINALLY decided on the Revos but a little unsure about getting the "P" vs "LT". Definitely going with 265/75/16 on stock rims ('97 4x4). On the Bridgestone site is shows the "P" tires as having less tread depth as well as being lighter. I never go offroad, but live in CO so widely varying road conditions are the norm. Most concerned with ride quality, appearance, traction and tread wear (in that order).
Curious if anyone has tried both the "P" and "LT" Revos on their runner (or another vehicle) and if so, was there a difference in ride quality? Noise? Tread wear? etc....
Also, what's the best PSI for road use on the "P" vs "LT" (never towing, just general around town driving) My current tires were run overinflated by the prior owner and are now bald in the middle and nearly brand new on the edges...definitely want to avoid makiing the same mistake. TIA for any advice, experience, opinions, etc.

traction: should be equal
and tread wear: you should get a little more life out of you LT due to the deeper thread.
I have not tried both types of tires. I only offroad occassionally but need good traction and chose the P rated tires. The 265/75 will be larger and adding even more weight if you choose the LT tires. This will work against you when you accelerate and brake. My guess is that P tires will be plenty for your use.
I run 30-32 psi and havn't notice wear issue the first 5K

So totally insignificant that I wouldn't worry about it. Unless you are going to be carring heavy loads you don't need the LT. There is no noticable difference in ride quality between the two if you have them at the same PSI. The difference between the Ps and the LTs is that the LTs can hold up to 50psi and the Ps only 35psi. You only need to run them at 50psi if you are loaded to the max. My suggestion is figure out what you need and then get the least expensive of the two.

I agree with "roadtripr" in that your ride quality will be will be poorer with the LT's as opposed to the "P" rated tire. Not only are the LT's heavier they also have stiffer sidewalls due to the extra plies, contributing to a harder ride. If you don't need the heavier duty tire like the LT's then get the P rated tire.

I went with the 'P''s and am very happy with them. As for tire pressure, I had to experiment until I found what worked best. I am running mine at 35, and they track fine and wear seems good. I prefer the added control that higher pressures give versis the somewhat smoother ride at lower pressure, but that is a personal choice.

Thanks all...I was pretty set on the P, but would like the slightly beefier tread on the LT's. The P's should be chaper too so easy decision. Seems like the consensus on PSI is somehwere between 30-35. I'll just play around with it and keep a close eye on wear..Can't wait...just in time for a winter trip to Steamboat!

2 cents here. I ran 35 psi in my revos for a bit but noticed some center wear on the rears when I rotated. I now run 33psi. I have a 90 model runner. I had noticed that when I had my Michelin LTX AT in the LT model that I could run 40psi and not get center wear. I posted a thread about this very subject some time ago.

I'm running 30x9.50 REVOs on my 1995 3.0/AUTO 2WD with Edelbrock IAS and Downey 1.5 HD springs and it rides like a champ! Couldnt be happier with the performance of this set up.
