Bridgestone Revos! alignment?

Got the 265-65x17 Bridgestone A/T Revos mounted today. Haven't had a chance to flog it yet, since I had the old Bridgestone H/T's in the back and didn't want to screw up the interior. I'll take it out tomorrow for a romp. First impression is that they ride like the H/Ts, and are maybe the tiniest bit louder. They look absolutely bitchin'. I was on the fence about going up a size to the 70 series, but when I saw some pics of them on another gen4, I realized it was pretty tight and would make it really tough to put chains on. These look fine. I'll take some pics tomorrow if I get a chance.

Now what the hell do I do with four H/T's in the garage that only have 1300 miles on them? Does anybody want to buy them? Should I try to pawn them off on a used tire dealer? Make targets out of them?

One more question...the Firestone dealer suggested that I need to do an alignment job now that I've got new tires. I don't think it's necessary, since they are the same size as stock, the truck's only three weeks old, I haven't hit anything too hard (I'm a careful/slow 4-wheeler), and the truck runs perfectly straight. What's the common wisdom? Align with new tires, or is that just another way for Firestone to suck more money out of my wallet?

im an alignment tech... and its how i get paid... we normally suggest alignments on new tires to prevent damage to the new tires... however a lot of people dont do them, and thats their choice.... us recommending them is due to the fact that 90% of people out there driving are idiots and dont know hoe to drive or wouldnt even think of alignment was causing problems or even know about what an alignment is... and you can have totally messed up alignment and a straight wheel with no pulling and can still cuase horrible tire wear. my old explorer tracked straight as an arrow wit ha perfect steering wheel and had -3 degrees of camber on both sides and the tires were toed out 2 degrees a side... you would have never noticed, except looking at the truck the tires sat funny / \ and the tires were badly worn on the inner edeges... we say to get an alignment as a PM (preventive maintenance) thing....

The previous poster made some valid points regarding alignments and how people tend to overlook their necessity.

You have 1300 miles on a brand new 4Runner.

Why on earth would you need alignment work done? You answered your own question at the end.

Congrats on the REVOs - I recently had a set of 275/70/16s mounted on my '01 4Runner and am extremely pleased with their performance.

Forgot to add to my first response. Why not place them in the classified section on YotaTech and/or Ebay? Maybe sell them outright for $200 plus shipping. Should be an easy sell on Ebay.

aowRS: thanks for confirming my thoughts on the alignment. Maybe I'll get it done when it's time to rotate. I'll also post an ad for the H/Ts and see what happens.

Here's a shot of one of my new revos. Funny, I just drove straight home from the tire shop, but somehow I found a dirt road on the way. I think that 4Runner has a mind of its own!

Got my new Revo's a few weeks ago They are definitley worth the money, and have great grip in the dirt. (Havent tried snow or mud yet)
However, I made the mistake of spinning them too fast when stuck awhile ago and tore some chunks off the tread in the rear.
They're still y though

I have 350 miles on my new 285/75/16 Revos. Broke them in on Coney Flats and was very impressed with them. The lugs seemed to clean themselves fairly efficiently and I had no problems with traction. Looking forward to snow (especially with the recent 90+° temperatures)
