Anybody know anything about Super Swamper Trxus M/T Radials?

Im out looking for some good off-road/snow tires that are also good for city/highway driving. I came across these Super Swamper Trxus M/T Radials. I've never heard anything about the Super Swamper brand, so I was hoping I could get some oppinions on them, and how well they handle off-road. I tried a search for these but didn't come up with what I was looking for.

theres a couple of threads on here about them. One thing, being a Interco tire, I'd imagine that they're pretty heavy (hard to balance).
if your looking for killer mud tire, super swampers are at the top. run a search on the Trxus m/t and you'll see a couple threads on it.

I used to have them on my 93 with a 4" superlift and the tires were 33x12.5. I loved them. They are awesome in the snow and ice. I will get them again when the 4Runner becomes more of an off roading only vehicle. I say get them because you won't get a better bang for the buck in the tire world.

Great off road tire. Soft compound that goes away really fast on the street. Very affordable!

I have them on my 4Runner right now. I have the 33x12.50's. Because they are Interco, they are tough as nails. They ARE heavy, but I had no problems getting them balanced.

They are a true offroad tire, you will experience a floaty feeling with them on the highway. This isn't my daily driver, but I do put plenty of highway miles on it. I didn't buy my 4runner to go racing around corners, so I don't mind. At least with the quiet interior of the 4th gen 4runner, they aren't that loud either.

I haven't had the chance to run in snow with them yet, but I have heard good things. So far, on rocks, sand, and dirt; they are awesome.

Super Swamper might not be the most well known tire on the general market, but they have been around a LONG time in the offroad arena. Check the link in my sig for some pics of the TrXus's.

Good luck.

I have only heard great things about these tires. a lot of jeeps i see run them on their cherokees or TJ's and they praise them like its their job. im considering buying these as well when i need a good set, only thing im hesitant about is the tread life. from what i hear, Super Swampers are really soft and get eaten up by the road quick. im kinda at that point tho where i dont care. they look cool as hell and like i said, heard nothing but good about these rubbers.

Tires

Hey Kyle
I have been running Truxs tires for the last 2 years and they hold up well offroad. Mine have taken a beating and still get me home everytime.
Would I recommend them, yea they are cheap and hold up well for the money.
You could spend more on other tires but hey were all trying to save a buck when we can on mods. Doug

It's tire time for me as well, and I'm stuck b/w the Firestone MT and these, I figure these are going to wear fast, is that everyones experiance with them? I find all tires go fast unless you keep them balanced and rotated. How's everyones tires looking so far with what they have on them, what do yall expect to get out of them?

I used to have these on my old 4runner. GREAT tire. I actually liked them better than my old MTR's, i've heard they've changed for the better though.

I actually liked the softer compound.. stickier compound = more street traction lol
oh and mine had 35k on them and weren't on the wear indicators. *shrug*

I ran these tires for about a year and a half on my 93 before trading it in. These are the mud tires that I think I'll always run. They are cheaper than most, have siping from the factory, awesome sidewall lugs. IMHO they are the best bang fot the buck tire on the market today. I would have gotten a new set, but since the wife drives the 4Runner, mainly on-road, I went with an all terrain that had a tread wear warranty.

WAIT WAIT WAIT! Let me get this straight, you bought a 2003 4runner for use as a trail rig and you have a separate daily driver???

Okay, you want the story, you asked for it!! Out of college I had one car, an old '95 blazer that was a great truck for me, but was slowly giving up the ghost. I wanted a new SUV, not used, because I had always had used cars, and wanted to treat myself to something new now that I had a real life career. I had been snowboarding for 10 years and I wasn't about to give that up, and now that I was in San Diego, I *knew* that some offroading was going to go on. So offroad prowess was a must. After much research the 4runner was the *only* way to go. So there, I sold the blazer and had one truck, I lived about 5 minutes from work. So it was my daily driver.

Then a year and a half went by and I switched jobs, the new one being a 30min drive. I was making more cash and the wifey was bringing in some dough now, so we decided to get a small car for my commute and our long (non snow or offroad) trips. So for the last year or so, I've been driving an '05 Acura RSX for my daily driver. 34mpg and pretty sporty.

At the time if I had more cash, I would've bought an old yota for offroading to go with my new 4runner, but I could barely afford the 4runner as it was.

So there you go. I have a 2003 4runner that only has 20,000 miles on it (and it's been driven to Oregon (Mt. Bachelor) twice).

Don't start with me smartass!
