What Parts Are Needed For A 1UZ Auto Trans 4 X 4 Conversion?

My goal is to swap a 1990 -'1994 or 1995 - 2000 1UZ into my first-generation V6 4runner and keep it automatic. I have been reading for hours, but some of the information seems outdated. Many articles refer to a PreRunner adapter that was made by inchworm, which I think is no longer in production. And even Marlin crawler seems to be forever out of stock of his V6 to RF1A adapters. It seems like the only course available right now is to mount a Toyota chain drive transfer case and the factory adapter, sourced from a T100, behind the Lexus A341E or A340E, which requires swapping out the output shaft and the addition of a modified second speed sensor. Am I understanding this correctly?

I am not absolutely stuck on the idea of having an automatic transmission either. It just seemed like the most cost-effective way to do the swap in my 4runner which already has an A340F transmission. In fact, I have everything I need to change over to an R150F manual transmission, but I was thinking that a late model 1UZ with 290 or 300 hp might be more than the transmission can handle, especially if I'm running 35 or 37 inch tires.

I sent Marlin Crawler's people an email and they replied. It seems that it is just bad luck that whenever I look they have been out of the V-6 adapter plate, which is actually an adapter plate to mount an RF1A, gear type, transfer case, on to most Toyota 4x4s that came with the chain-drive transfer case, including certain automatic equipped trucks. They said that it was in stock as of today.

So I think the formula is this:

Take an automatic transmission from a 1UZFE powered Lexus automobile, remove the tail housing, remove the output shaft (some transmission disassembly required), replace the output shaft with the shaft out of a 4 x 4 T 100 pickup truck, modify a tail housing from the T100 to add a second speed sensor and then install the tail housing on to the Lexus transmission. Now you have a Lexus transmission that can mount directly on the back of the 1UZFE engine and speak to the engine control computer, and mount one of the chain-drive 4 x 4 transfer cases on its backside. If you need a gear drive transfer case, then you need an adapter like the one offered by Marlin Crawler and one or more RF1A transfer cases.

Now I'm wondering if my Toyota 4 x 4 floor shifters can be made to work with the Lexus transmission.

I am changing my mind on the fly. My 1993 Xtra Cab 3.0 V6 has been needing a new engine for a while. I was planning to rebuild the 3vze six-cylinder, but my engine was damaged beyond repair, and two more that I looked at were not going to work either. Well actually, I could've rebuilt the last engine I looked at, but the thought of throwing $1000 at the 3vze V6 just didn't seem to make sense when you can get Toyota/Lexus 1uzfe engines all day long for less than $500. So I'm taking the leap, I'm kissing my vast collection of 3VZ parts goodbye and turning my focus towards everything that I will need to do the swap. And since this truck has a five-speed manual transmission I am no longer looking for solutions for a swap featuring an automatic transmission
