Concerns with a 7mgte swap
Ok I've been having a few engine issues with my engine and it's already been rebuilt once to my knowledge and it looks like I am probably looking at rebuilding again before my truck is done. I've been shopping around for either 22r engines or a possible 7mge or 7mgte swap under the hood. I know that it can bolt right up to my tranny and that's great but how would the tranny hold up to the hp increase? Especially if I'm looking at a dual case solution. I tried searching here about the swap but didn't come up with much more than wtf on a couple of threads. I'm not interested in a v8 swap simply because I'm a toyota fanboy and I'd rather stick with the straight 6 since it has better torque. I'm also interested in driveability as well. Anyone around here done something like this? If the tranny won't hold up I'll scratch it off my list but I'm already looking at ripping the truck apart when I get back so a couple more weeks ripped apart wouldn't kill me or the truck. As always any input is certainly appreciated. Also if there are other issues I would be getting into I would most definitely like to know about those as well.

w56 series (not sure what year that he pulled the tranny from but it's a 5 spd) and an old 1982 4x4. So far the frame and everything else look pretty good with only spots of rust. No real deep stuff. The west coast was really nice to her up in Washington.
