Hmmmm.. 'lathe' nice work man!!

Post #80, 2nd pic.. The green, round plug.. is that the 2nd diagnostics port? Can't find it on my loom. Cant recall leaving anything in the car, but it sure ain't there. I'll just have to gather the wires and find a plug later.

so not much to report here .. just thought id show the sc 400 fuel pump in the 4 runners fuel pump bracket . its pretty much a simple swap over you just need the sc fuel pumps connector since the 4runners wires are bolted to the pump and dont use a connector .

ok , alittle update .... the truck starts and idles fine .. the only wiring needed is the extra A/C relay I need to add (to change the positive signal to negative) and the temp sensor for the fans . heres some pics ..i still need to put the dash back together , install the radiator and drive shafts.

Good work as always RMA. I'm gonna be starting my 2nd swap with my 88 4Runner here in a couple of months and I want the A/C to work on this one so I may need to hit you up for some detailed info on that.

Thanks man .. and when you ready let me know , ill try and post the info on the A/C here soon .

so this 4runner is GONE!! did my part it starts fine idles good ..
the owner will finish it up this is whats left
drive shafts
radiator
fans
RX7 intake boot (to get rid of the aluminum tape on the intake)

once he gets those done hell bring it back to finish some details , the ecu will be moved (want him to drive it before i cut up the harness some more) under the passanger seat .
The Kick down switch will be installed (Ls 400 switch is a little smaller than the current sc 400 one)
the 4wd light in the dash will be connected , its all there just need some connectors off the t-100 do it nice and not just splice the wires together.

heres how she left

.
.
.
and heres the next one it also belongs to the same guy and he wants the swap done to this one to.. told him to Wait! ..maybe 1 or 2 months ..

fantastic work, man. particularly with the detail to the cluster. i'd love to see a pic in the dark with it all lit up. i miss my '90 LS; love that motor and wish i could justify buying premium fuel or i'd still have it.

when you're able to figure out a flat price for the conversion, please let us know and we'll be lining up to place orders!

really, fantastic work.

AWESOME WORK!!!! Custom Component Engineering could use a slick cat like you!! lol
I was wondering your thoughts on moving the brake booster up a tad? I am going to do a test fit in mine in the next couple days and I really dont want to do a body lift. Do you think I can get away with getting it low enough gaining clearances by masaging oil pan combined with moving booster? I plan on solid mounts on this one. Even if I need to dent the firewall, I want this puppy as far down and back as it will go.

no i dont think so ..
https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f161...runner-211832/
in this swap we made a whole new oil pan (Frankenpan) .. we got the engine way down with out a body lift and the booster was not in the way any more....but when it came time to put the tranny on the tunnel was hitting the trans and transfer case.. so we had to put on a body lift anyway .. after all that we really didnt need to make the pan after all .. it did help alot in lowering the engine.. but making a new pan is not necessary either .. the owner wanted the engine as far down as possible and hes very happy with it .. but in my opinion its actually to far down in there.

one other thing.... the other day i found this toyota adapter in the junk yard off a corrolla early 90's .. it is a genuine toyota adapater from mechanical to electronic speed sensor .
heres the part number
83181-20040
and check this link out its technical drawing of the adapter.

much thanks bro, looks like I have no choice but to do a lift..just for the hell of it, I am going right now to do a test fit. Oh, do you happen to have an extra 26 pin clip for the 4th port by itself on a 90 LS400 ecu?
