So I got my swap done and love it 21mpg and can cruise around in 5th up and down these hills. My ? Is my tach don't work at all. I haven't done the resistor mod. Because I though it would work but read high. It will blip when you turn the key.

Aye you gotta do the tach mod. It's simple to do and cheap.

Did you remove the clear top shell and remove the three screws holding the tach in the cluster. Once the tach is removed you will notice the board on the back of the tach where the resistor goes. Be careful not to remove the needle as I did and the tach didn't work accurately after

Look at this post. Followed it to the T and my tach on my 88 SR5 works perfectly.

10k , 1/4 watt resistor will do the trick.
