pulled out of brian's driveway

closer to home, needed gas (two tanks for the whole trip)

aaand into my driveway. to unload, I just set the 4runner's e-brake and drove forward

I wired the 4runner's tail lights into a trailer wiring harness for lights on the drive home. worked perfect

the ecu

and the 4runner in it's final position. tons of room to work on it

that's great. It hought Brian was going to keep the ecu for his swap.
when you part it out I'll take the cup holders if they work. I'm more interested to see your swap though.
When is the sas coming?

he said he was, but he threw it in. he mentioned that he could find another one. also, I think there's a way to trick out the auto ecu to work as a many tranny
I won't be parting it out for a while as I want to start pulling out the stuff from the truck first. but I will keep that in mind
sas? next year, maybe? I'm going with a custom setup with leaf spring sliders and relocated forward a few inches

manny tranny made me laugh. I know of a few people who've kept their auto ecu
I'm glad you can get started. It will feel really good to get back behind the wheel of your truck.

Glad to see you got the runner home.

The only difference with having my auto ECU is that there will be a CEL for what the ECU thinks is a missing transmission.

less than 12 hours after i step off the plane, i go pick this up

and these

to lift the engines out. got them all cheap-ish on craigslist
also picked up the plywood to roll all this stuff around on

and some light! for the graveyard hours.

i won't be working on anything this weekend due to other commitments, but i will be starting to pull off the little things during the week

started dissecting the 4runner today

need to replace this. the port broke off in the wreck. also, the charcoal canister was broken and leaking... well... charcoal. i'm going to be using the 4cyl canister anyway.

i need to disconnect the fuel lines, alternator plug, main harness, and mounts. then i can lift the engine out. then i'll start gutting the truck

i can't wait to slap the tube doors on and to power-slides through the round-a-bouts! the whole time i was wrenching today, someone was idling their hotrod, so i had some nice inspiration to keep at it.

if it wasn't for this city weather and my city schedule, i'd be almost done by now

i just meant that i have probably added ~500 lbs of stuff to my rig, in the form of dual cases, larger tires, toolbox, brush guard, and all the little things
yup! today and tomorrow are supposed to be gorgeous, so i hope to be able to pull it out soon (so i can put it in the shed to work on once it gets cold on wednesday)

What's up buddy?!?!
Just dropping in slinging some support at you! Sorry I haven't been following, totally overwhelmed with the swap! Lol....
By the way, you may have added 500 pounds, but you're still probably a 500 Shy of a stock 2nd Gen 4 runner! ..... Anxious to see this happen! Best wishes to you all the way through this

Here's a pic of my recently completed swap for inspiration haha. you are gonna love your runner a whole lot more when you're done. The only problem I've had with my swap is the leaditis in my right foot just can't seem to keep it outta the throttle. Seems like you can handle the wiring on your own but if you get stuck on anything let me know its all fresh on my mind.
