yotaman messaged me saying he might have a ECU i need. replied inquiring to price. Waiting to hear back from him till i pull trigger on some on that car-parts site. found one for 150 in town, 125 out of town. and a iffy 70 bucks in wisconsin somewhere. Not 100% sure if truck was a extended or regular cab. the ECUs for that year's manual 4x4 tacomas gives different ECU #s for each. No clue why they would use seperate computers

The problem with not getting the exact ECU from the donor is that Toyota did a lot of changing crap around during years and sometimes in the middle of a year.

Any ECU can be made to work it just takes time to figure out the wiring and to repin the plugs or to get new plugs.

Awesome! Very interested in a harness. Have a daily driver project--94 2wd 22re 5sp with a bad motor. Looking to install a low-milage 1997 3.4 4runner motor and auto trans out of the wrecker yard. I have both complete vehicles. What do you need, how much, and when can I get it?

Hey tmz. I just got a 3.4 and it will be going in our prerunner. I only need to make a harness with the bare minimum to run the engine and possibly the tach if its not too hard. I want to just use the stock speedo and tach to keep cost down but use all aftermarket gauges for temp, oil and such. My question is how much would it be for a diagram to help me just get this thing running without all the factory frills?

Is this going to be a race truck only? What year is the truck, trans you are using, donor truck and ECU part #?

I would be interested in the harness and crossover. Something that would be extremly helpful when I do decide to complete my swap. Gonna have to keep my eye on this thread. A prices list would be great.

Not exactly race only but I plan to bypass the o2 after the cat and have my own gauges other then the tach and speedo. I will not have a/c but would like to keep the heater. How many wires are needed to make these things run? I heard somewhere that it was some low low number like 10..?

its going in a 94 manual 4x4 and I dont have an ecm yet because I dont know what ecm will work with my 96 3.4 that came with a 5 speed

I am still working on pricing. I do not need your harness to do this unless your ECU does not match your harness and you need it repinned. I am working on a stand alone harness that can be used in a buggy or race truck. I will also be doing harnesses for 2rz, 3rz, and Lexus V8. Complete E-Locker harness from switch to locker will be available soon
3.4 Conversion Harness $350.
Convert Auto to Manual + $50.
Repin Harness + $100 I will supply the needed connectors
URD Rear O2 sim + $100 I will supply the sim

Do you have access to the plugs at this moment?

I've been waiting for months to get a few plugs from Japan because they're not stocked in the USA.

Will you be posting up what wires need to be crossed over from the body to the engine and vice versa?

If you can guarantee factory like performance with a 3.4 than you got my business when the 3.0 takes a crap. Meaning that A/C, cruise, tach, speedo, check engine light, everything works like it came from the factory.

Yes I can. Here is a sneak peek of work in progress on Cadi daddy's harness. That is a pile of connectors beside my laptop.

I'll find the part numbers for the plugs I need again and let you know.

My wife hates it when I'm doing a 3.4 swap because our coffee table looks just like that. Good times!
