Conversion Wiring

Conversion Wiring
Here is what I am thinking, and looking for input. I have and can do the wiring for others in the form of a pigtail harness. This harness will plug directly into the engine harness and the body harness. This also comes with a printed list of each wire in this harness for diag purposses. I will do the hard work of figuring what wire goes where. I can also make a harness for the 3.4 to be used in a buggy. Here comes the catch guys. I would love to help everyone for free, but this does take quite a bit time (normally a week turn around). I am not looking to hit anyone over the head, but keep in mind what ORS charged for this. Let me know what you guys think.

Having done my swap last August, this was the part I feared most. With the factory service manuals and an idea what the goal is, it's not hard. Just very, very time consuming.
But...if you don't have a clue about wiring and are reluctant to venture into this area, this sounds like a good deal. ORS, bless them for what they tried to do, was very pricey and because of that, I didn't buy their harness.
Even if you were to charge a couple hundred bucks, it would be worth it. More than that, though...well, it's a tough sell for some people.

You should make them. It will help people out. Just start by doing orders. If you need one made then you should be able to wait a week.

I will offer other parts like battery trays, crossover pipes, throttle cable brackets, ect, ect. I will be reasonably pricing these also.

I will get some pics up this week. I completed a diagram last night that will be e-mailed today for a customer who wants to make his own harness. I will try to get some pics up of this also. Happy New Year

Anybody who wants to do a quick swap should have a premade harness. I think I could have done mine in about 4 days if I'd have had a harness and cross-over pipe before pulling the 3.0. Oh and the correct engine
I'd say make em. Then figure out how to market em.

First post. Just delving into research on swap i hope to be able to complete this week. I picked up a 96 manual engine that has all its under hood wiring still attached. I was wondering if this harness your talking about is a adapter to let you use the old 3.0 ECU? I have yet to locate a full yes/no model to model computer/wiring harness/engine running right compatibility post. I was under the belief i was going to have to buy a new 3.4l ecu? Would your harness let me keep old ecu and it would run same as the updated one?

thanks neoworm,
Im pumped i found an active yota community! Can you clarify your yes, yes and no answer a wee bit?
First question i asked was will the harness TMZ wants to market let me use my old ECU (#1st answer yes).
Second questions was, do i have to source a 3.4l ecu. (2nd answer yes). Doesn't that conflict with answer 1? What did I miss?
Third question I asked if I could run harness with old ecu (3rd answer no) which conflicts with answer #1 but makes sense with #2. I'm thinking my 1st question wasn't clear?

thanks yotaman, a ECU is something I did not get with either engine. I searched ebay a bit (a pain with dial up) and didn't see a single stock ecu up right now. none on local craigslist either. I imagine the stealer will want mucho dinero for one. so this might be the biggest hurdle in my project.

Sorry my mistake. I read your post wrong. Should have been NO, YES and NO. Try car-part.com. I just did a quick search and found all kinds ranging in price just for 2000 4runners.
