But my question is how you got your AC idle up to work on your motor, my AC works when moving down the freeway or if i have my RPMS up but it kicks off at idle, my engine is out of an 01' tacoma and im not sure if they use a VSV or if they run it through the IAC to idle up....... Ive been searching through wiring diagrams through TTORRA and i just cant seem to figure it out. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated, ecspecially with summer right around the corner!!!!
I might actually know that one. There is a little control knob or screw for that and its back behind the glove box on my 93 pickup. It sets at what rpm the AC compressor will shut off. Mine is set to minimum and runs fine at idle. I'll try to find a pic of the general area.

actually im pretty sure the picture that MT GOAT put up is of the A/C cut relay. the part ur loooking for is the a/c Amplifier circuit board and u need to make a little conversion harness so that the 3.4 circuit board will plug in place of the 3.0 board. circuit board is either mounted on top or bottom side of the A/C evap in the cab.

i could be wrong about the pic but thats what that round thing was on mine. also the a/c amplifiers use and send differnt signals 3.0 to 3.4 ive heard of people not having trouble but looking at the diagrams i cant see how.

I didn't mean the adjustment screw was on the cutoff relay, just that it was in that general area. Also I don't have a 3.4 AC amp on my truck.

Custom aluminum radiators

Whew! What a read!

If you need a custom radiator, these guys might be able to build one. They have a great reputation with the Chevelle forum guys. Pricey? Yes. But they're excellent. Someday I'll get one for my 'Velle.

If you dont mind, I am planning to do a rebuild on the 3.0 stock engine from a 1991 4x4, I have been researching for ideas and would like to know more about this swap as well. Im not sure if your hometown does SMOG CHECK every so often years to make sure the vehicles are not polluters but if you were to smog this car with the 3.4 engine, would it be able to pass the sniffer and smog test?? I have the 5spd 3.0 and will be considering the 3.4 5spd swap as well, i know it will be a bolt on except the harness but what clutches and flywheels do i use? or are they the same? Im planning to use the 3.4 engine with the stock 3.0 transmission. ANy sub harnesses out there already made? I know you have OSR. Are they any good?

The wiring harness isn't the only issue with the 3.4 swap GBK, you also have to do a cross-over pipe, move the battery, etc.

This thread/FAQ should help you with your research. Also check all the stickies at the top of the 3.4 swap section...

My swap was an auto tranny, I don't have a clue on the manual tranny.

There are lots of variables with smog checks, best if you ask your local muffler shop or who ever does the tests. We don't have checks here in OK.

It most definetly is not a "bolt-in" there are plenty of little things you will have to alter or fabricate, i.e. power sterring hoses, fuel line hookups, battery location, etc.

With that being said, it probably is one of the "erasier" swaps out there because it usually requires no fabrication to get the motor trans mounted together and in the truck.

There is plenty of info on this in the stickies at the top of the 3.4 section like was mentioned.

To answer your first few questions. You use the 3.4 flywheel, pressure plate and disk and the 3.0 throw-out bearing. (this is not the only way to go, but is the strongest)

There are no "professional" harness makers out there right now. ORS is out of business. depending on where you get your donor 3.4 from, it dosen't have to be too big of a project to do the wiring yourself.

Read...Read...Read. You will be amazed what details you can learn from all of the threads on YT and in other forums.

Good Luck

Doing this now after better then a year of no Evap. hehe

The issue I've been having from the get go is ?where are the connecting plugs? The 98 T100 harness I have does not have any "extra plugs". I have the canister and the VSVs but no place to hook them up. Am I stoopid or some ting? Is it on a separate harness? I was planning to just make one. Any suggestions?

I don't know about the T100 engine harness but the electrical connectors were on my 2001 Taco engine harness. Where was the stock 3.4 canister on the T100?

The evap is in basically the same place. Drivers side inner fender. Square box with VSV's attached. The ECU has the wiring for it but the harness does not. I think I will just have to make one. Thanks for the info.
