3.4 Alive in SD!!!

For the first time in almost a year (I work a LOT so it took forever) I finally drove my truck under it's own 3.4 power for the first time! I wanted to thank everyone on this forum because without the YT crew, I would not have even thought of attempting such a feat since I've never done anything like it before.

I got the exhaust put on yesterday and a battery tray made so it just needs some minor details and she'll be roadworthy soon! It was a great bday present for me today to be able to drive it after so long.

It was a great feeling, almost as good as hearing it run for the first time a couple of months ago. Now I've got a bunch of noises from the truck sitting for a year that I've got to find.

I'm not going to bother with the ref for this year, I want to get the entire truck fully dialed in before I mess with that. I'm currently running the '91 EVAP. I still have to figure out all the vacuum routing, airbox mounting, tach, cruise, A/C, and a bunch of other little things.

dem0n: I'd be happy to show you my truck, just PM me and we can meet somewhere. I went with the headers for mine but I'll likely have to change that for refereeing...

not to rain on your parade but that 91 EVAp wont work with the ref either. Just a heads up.

No rain in this forecast...I know about the EVAP, I have the 98 one but was missing too many things so I just decided to make this one work for now.

Ok cool. Just wanted you to be eyes wide open when going over there. It seems that if you fail once then they really crawl up your bottom from what I have heard.

Yeah, I kept the stock manifolds and x-over as well so that when it's time i can swap it back in for the inspection since I'm told it's risky to try and do the downey headers even though the they are CARB legal...

My ref said that even CARB legal item wont pass initial inspection but are allowed after inspection during regular smog checks.
