Need Clutch Help: What's going on?

Guys,

Unloaded the truck from the trailer Sunday. Clutch seemed soft. No biggy, hard weekend of trail riding and full of mud.

Today I jump in it to drive to work and the clutch pedal hits the floor with no pressure. BUT if you pump the clutch pedal it works for a bit. Meaning it feels normal for the shift. But let it go say 2 miles and the process has to be repeated to get any pressure. I know it's toast but just need to get one more run out of it this weekend.

Is there an emergency repair for this? Or is my clutch finally done. Help. I leave Thursday night for Paragon.Maybe

yes, at both ends. It's had this leak for the last 5K miles and all I've had to do is keep adding fluid. It's full too.

I've put this off for too long

sounds like you've blown the slave cylinder. if you're leaking at both ends, now's a good time to replace both master and slave.

Okay, thanks Kyle. I'm going to tear into it tomorrow and see what can be done. Should be able to just replace both and rebleed and be set?

Bleeding the MC can be difficult as I've heard that air may get trapped in the MC unless it's bench bled. I've got a pressure bleeder and it worked wonders with the bleeding process.

Cool! I hope this works. I've heard Nightmares about bleeding clutches trying to get all the air out. I has to be done ASAP though so I'd better get busy.

Advanced Auto has a clutch kit for this truck for 97 bucks. Not sure if it includes the master and slave. Will keep you guys posted

THANKS EVERYONE!! This board is awesome!

Yep, you need to bench bleed the crap out of the master cylinder. Add fluid, bleed. Rap on it with a hammer or screwdriver handle to loosen the bubbles, bleed again. Turn it at different angles, rap on it more, bleed again. 10 to 15 minutes of turning, bleeding and rapping usually do it.

clutch kit is gonna be the disc/pressure plate/throwout bearing/pilot bearing. you just need the clutch master and slave cylinders. probably end up about $40 for both if you get the house brand. they're not too hard to bleed, the hardest part about doing mine was the hose kept popping off my bleeder bottle

While you have them both out you can flush out the line of all the old fluid and start from scratch with all new fluid. replaceing both master and slave will only take about a hour or so if everything goes well.
have you started the v-6 swap yet? Hows that going?

Kyle,

Yup, that's what it is, called Advanced and they have what I need for like Fifty some bucks total for both. Kinda had a brainfart when he told me he had the parts and everything else he said was blah, blah, blah.

Headed up there now, gotta a few buddies going to help tonight. See what we can get accomplished.

Unhappy

I bench bled my brake master and it was not too bad, I'll keep in mind your tricks cause I know this one will be a real PITA. Already been warned by everyone that I've talked too. Thanks man.

Keep you guys posted.

Not started the motorswap yet. Wanted to get this run in (Coal Mine) first then the truck is going down for some serious maintenence in the axles (complete rebuild) and motorswap. That's planned to start over 4th of July weekend. Kinda at the mercy of the shop doing it so just being real patient. This clutch thing is just bad timing. Or this run is. One of the 2

Just take youre time and the clutch thing will work out.
Call me if you need any help. I have had to replace quite a few. The hardest part I think is getting that spring under the dash hooked back up. there is so little room to move.
