I got the beeps, the creeps, and the bleeps...(clutch)

As they say...

Whenever I engage the clutch there is a creaking noise coming from somewhere under the truck.

I cant hear it inside, or when the windows are closed.

Its not loud and really only noticeable while engaging the clutch at a stop or in a parking lot.

Any ideas, can I lube something up under the truck?

thanks

probally the linkage on the housing. my old 79 did that... push in the clutch w/ the windows down and you hear creeeeeakkkk! on that one, it had an old linkage w/ a pivot that had metal-to-metal contact. i caked some marine grease on the pivot for the cable, and it quit.

I'd say linkage or the clutch pivot point for the actual pedal

Christian, a couple months ago....that was an interior noise when I dealt with it.

This is entirely external.

OK cool. Have you stuck your head under there by the clutch release fork while someone pushed the clutch pedal in and out? That will help you narrow it down. I bet the squeak is coming from that pivot point.

thats the linkage I was talking about down at the slave cylinder/ fork while your down there check to see if your slave cylinder is leaking or shot (easy to tell theres fluid all over the motor, bellhousing, transmission, frame etc.) Also while your on the subject of squeaky clutches hit the pedal pivot point w/some WD40 just to prevent it from squeaking on you
