3vze auto to 22re manual
I have 2 4runners
1990 22re 5 speed with detroit lockers / 5.29 gears & small lift
(the body & frame are done...)
1995 v6 auto, with great body & frame , hg blown
I'd like to swap most of the drive line from the 4cyl into the v6
since I have the donor vehicle ( i will be moving the gearing/lockers too)
the 22re is a great little engine and I don't need anymore power esp with 5.29 gearing. (please don't mention 3.4 swap)
Right now I've pulled the 3vze/a340h
any advice for this project ?

well...almost finished (taking my time)
there were a lot of little areas to take care of:
new engine mount adapters
exhaust is setup
pedals moved
3rd members swapped
torsion bars swapped
engine/transmission/transfer case swapped
wiring almost done
clutch master/slave swapped
steering lines & reservoir swapped
chassis wiring harness almost ready
fuel pump still needs to be swapped
add oil, brake fluid, trans fluid, diff fluid...
not sure if I will be able to get AC or cruise control running until later
I don't recommend this swap unless you have both trucks and you have time, otherwise it's not that expensive

it's alive!
started right up after the the fuel got to the engine...
I kept the v6 fuel pump because I think it's the same one used throughout the 2nd gens.
problem: seems to be running rich and hesitates on throttle
it has no codes and the cel is not on
idles fine
checked the afm - all ohm values check out
I am using the v6's 02 sensor and the v6 fuel pump. Could this be causing the rich mixture? (I don't think so)
any ideas what to check to narrow it down?

what wireing did you have to do and how bout the engine mounts?im taking a 4cyl from 89 and swapping it in to a 92.the 92 came out v6 3.0. just wondering what all im in for?your help would be appreciated since youve done it.ive already pulled both engines.

My 94 3.0 auto's motor is toast and I've found a 22r motor and manual tranny from an 83 with 95,000 miles on it for cheap and I was wondering myself what all would be involved in that, thanks for the info.
