Should I ?! (SAS)

Yotatech!

how hard can it be to find parts for this particular axle?

FJ40 axles are 57" front, 56" rear.
Compare that to an IFS rear end which is 58.5" and a 79-85 front axle is 55.5" which can easily be made ~58.5" wide with IFS hub swap.

OK so whats wrong with fj axles. Why can't the fj axles be spaced out to match the proper width.

Prolly slight diffences wouldn't make them and mini truck axles interchange and make parts harder to come by...if anything I would go fJ 60 axles, wider and high pinion

Fj40 rear is also offset to the side and not centered. The 3rd members are fine, and yes, you can use the front, but you would want to verify that its a 79 and new axle.
