Frame swap help
My frame rotted out of my 84 4x4, found a donor frame, but while starting to switch over, noticed the leaf springs were cracked an will need to freshen up the axles. Problems being, the axles are 8" but aren't original to the truck, and the truck was lifted long before I got it. Need to replace springs but don't know how much lift I need on the springs. Any help on how to identify what year the axles may have come out of, or any help on how to identify what leaf springs I need would be appreciated. Can take some measurements on u bolts and springs but the diffs are out from under at the moment.

Get some pictures of the springs.
How much lift do you have on the front axle??
Just figure out how much lift you want if any . Replace front and rear springs.
Most likely the front springs are shot as well.
Another option see if any of the local spring shops will rebuild the springs you have.

I'm not sure how much lift is on the front either, and no blocks that I could see. I know they're 5-leaf and 1.75" thick while stock is 4 leaf and 1.25", but that doesn't tell me much other than it's not stock

The front is 3 leaf forgot to measure or take pics of it, but it say pretty level before the frame snapped I'd assume it's the same front an rear but could be wrong. I know to find out for sure you're supposed to measure axle to frame, but it's hard to do that as it sits lol. You guys might be able to tell just from looking at the truck while it's on the ground. If I can find an old picture..

You people in the Land Of The Sun are so spoiled !!
I think the easy way would be to figure how much lift you want and buy the new front and rear springs and be done.
Then you know just what you have.
