As mentioned by others, I will be coming up. I will be coming alone (which means one extra front seat if someone wants to unload a passenger).

I'll be coming up first thing Saturday morning. Aiming to be up there by 8 AM.

Just starting the arduos task of finding all the gear I need to take. Woohoo!

still no TPS problems. my truck is looking golden for this trip! just gotta do an oil change, air filter clean. Im gonna top off the radiator fluid, and also run to the junkyard sometime this week and get an upper intake hose ( mine finally split, so i have a serious fluctuating idle ) Other than that. Im good! my gear is all packed up and ready to be thrown in the rig. just gotta fill the cooler with ice and the igloo with water/ice.

I just checked the weather for Kirkwood. This weekend is going to be beautiful. The highs are going to be in the low to mid 70's. I am guessing the lows will be in the high 40's.

Just got some bad news if it blows our way. Starting this weekend there is going to be a control burn around the Rubicon trail and Hwy 89. But only if there is enough volunteers. got it from sacbee.

Did anyone have problems with enough fuel last year? My first gen runner has way too small of a tank and I'm wondering if I should throw in 5 gallons of fuel for the trip. I'm driving up from Pine Grove on Saturday monrning, which is supposedly 35 miles away on 88.

Thanks,

Mike

i dunno what kind of gas mileage you get or how small a "small tank" is, but i made it round trip from Sacramento (maybe 250 miles?) on one 17-gal tank and was fine. i get between 15-19mpg with my 22re. Trail is around 25 miles long i'm guessing.

i'm rolling on on saturday morning.

Ahh, good news. That is what I wanted to hear. With the 5.29's, 33's, steel wheels, lockers, and the 3.0 with the auto trans, my Runner only sees 10-12 mpg offroad. On road I can get 17 on the freeway at 65, but in town and offroad, the mileage drops way off.

Thanks,

Mike

I brought 2 Jery cans last time and didn't use them. Think I filled up at the last stop to get gas drove the trail and didn't fill up until I got back to the bay.

Never know about a zombie outbreak or anything and all the gas stations are overrun. Better safe than sorry.

Got the 4runner back from the mechanic today. Apparenty it is "unalignable", the front end is just that messed up. As of right now I'm still in, I'm just gonna have to limp down the highway on a crappy alignment.
