I'll start looking for a Brown shirt

Phalanx.....I'm starting to lean towards a friday night departure. I'd have to wake up pretty damn early to make it with enough time. My buddy will have to leave saturday, but that's his problem.

I'm in Vista.

got my sliders welded on yesterday, I plan on installing my quick disconnects over the weekend, so I'll be good to go. On the last trip to Truckhaven I'm guessing the ride to the mine was a 2 or so and the part where Marc kinked his bumper was a 3/3+? Tent and sleeping bag are good just make sure your bag is rated to at least 30 deg or less.
I'll be leaving around 5-6 Sat and get there around 7 for check in and inspection. I plan on bringing my nephew and niece 8 and 14. If we are going to camp together we should get a list going of who's brining what. ie we don't all need to bring a fire ring.

i think the yotatech run on sunday should leave about 9. i will have to return to camp by 12 or 1 so i can pack and leave. if you have a locker and and sliders you can do the 3 or 3+ the one i did last year was tilted table w-e and it was hard but not impossible. i was running just my front lock rite with stock gears and no sliders. i kinked a little sheet metal because of the no sliders. but everything else was not that hard. martin i think your rating is right on the money. as far as temp i dont think i've been out there where it's gotten under 30.

carveacre is like a 2. but on the run i did last year we had a suzuki sidekick and a jeep with no lockers both did great till bil's hill the jeep bypassed it and the sidekick blew up a front cv, and was towed home. one guy had to be winched but everyone else drove it(i needed 4 trys). rabbits foot is lots of fun i did that the year before they give you lots of time to play in the sand dunes and if you've never done that your in for the time of your life, just air way down 10-12 psi max

if you have a regular jack you'll be fine mostly they check for safety stuff and insurance. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE AN INSURANCE CARD THAT IS CURRENT OR NO GO. seatbelts, e brake, tow strap, first aid kit no hi lift will be no big deal. does anyone not have a C.B. i have a plug in radio shack cheapy with magnet antenna and cig lighter plug. if anyone needs to borrow it i will bring it along

I hope it isn't too muddy out there. I saw a TJ stuck up to it's doorhandles in a pit last year on the way to Glamis.

I bet his wife said he was a dumbass, too.

Any word on flash flood warnings? I take it that they'll postpone the event if it's still raining real hard.

Thanks for info.
I don't mind the rain. I have had a watercrossing under 805 going home the last two days. Wasn't that deep but enough to keep regular cardrivers for going through.
I am not sure about joining you guys this weekend though, I in need of new tires as my left rear tire is leaking slowly. Not sure how much fun it would be to have it fail fully on trail.

What up all....

I had considered going to superstition on Saturday, but from what I've been told by fellow wheelers (jeep guys) they are under the firm belief that the area will be one big mudbowl.

They also told me that there is a "poker run" by truck haven? I guess just northeast of octillo?

Anyone heard of this run? or anyone going? I'd love to meet up with some of you guys for a nice runner-run

If that's the case so would Truckhaven. They aren't that far apart. I was out there not long ago, last run we did, and there was some mud lingering around from a rain that was about a week previous to that. With the heavy rain this time though I'm sure both places will be quite interesting to get around in.

I really want to go, besides they have my money. But, this rain isn't stopping. I'd hate to be in a flash flood out there. Lake Hodges actually has freakin water in it. And The golf course in Bonsall is a lake right now.
