As I thought, I'll be working my botty off until the day I get on a plane.

This week is a full frame conversion and then a flatbed on a 1986 SAS'd pickup.

Removeing crossmembers, changing shocks, bla bla bla.

Can I get on the plane yet ????

After that is a Tacoma and a ton of 4Runner stuff. It would be nice to work on the buggy.....

Where's that plane..........

Between Wheeling, I am going to try & take as many pics & video as possible. I am considering making a DVD myself. It all really depends on how things go though.

It sounds like Brian has the video and pics hosting all set, but if for some reason it doesn't work out, I've got an empty website for it if needed.

I will be doing a trial run for my documentary as I do not quite have the funds for a DVX100 yet. I'm going to try and get my buddies VX2100 to do some interviews but I wouldn't want to risk someone else's $2k camera on the trails. Ive got two handy cams and a water resistant helmet cam that I will be putting in all sorts of angles, under the truck etc etc... Is there a welder in the shop at Crawfords? Does anyone remember? So I will be happy to make a video for the trip again. I will be bringing a box of tapes, so if anyone wants to donate their camera to the video I will supply the tape and then take it at the end so I can capture it all and make a video (seeing thats what I'm at school for and all...) I might even be nice and let you guys have the tapes when I'm done with them. We shal see...

If you go on the group with me, then you're welcome to use my camera. It isn't the best quality out there, but it's good enough-the pictures are low quality though.

Digi8. No mounting to the outside of a rig though! I'd like it to be in one piece. Oh yeah, just one catch-you gotta take video of my lame duck ass too!

haha,
Actually what would be best is if you keep your camera and take video and I'll just capture it before we leave. I have two cameras to handle myself, so the more variety we have the better.

That's cool. Chris is bringing 2 spare batteries that I believe will work in mine. So I hope to have some video-now I just need a co-pilot to run the camera!

Me too, and the crunch time is winding down, I'm doing more prep work for this than I am my exams.

We should try and split up the cames, have Autin, Bret, and Selig in different groups so we can get as many rigs as possible, and then on the big obstcles like Slickrock where we'll prolly all be together, position everyone at different spots for more diversity of angles for Austin to work with later.

Actually now that I think about it, that camera would be perfect for recording the helmet camera since it doesn't have the resolution to warrent DV anyway. So then I could have an under truck angle, in-cab and exterior all at the same time. so if we end up in the same group we will have to do that for the big obstacles at least. Are you trying Slickrock this year Brett?

I'm not gonna have a truck so i can volunteer for full time camera duty. I am a very careful and reliable guy so i can handle even an expensive camera if there is someone willing to bring one. I'd really like to get some hi-res still pictures and video for the best shots and then reduce the file size down for the bulk pictures/video. I think the library here at NCSU loans out camera's and video recorders so I'll investigate that route too. There's no such thing as too many pictures.

Awesome,
You should be able to get SOMEthing... I will have my 20D with at least a gig card, possibly a 4gig as well if my friend's gets in like he is saying but I wouldn't totally count on it. I'm also going to be bringing at least my 23" monitor to look at pictures if not a projector (guys across the street just got one and I haven't gotten a chance to ask if I could borrow it yet). For those with laptops I just got a 7200rpm 60gig lacie portable hard drive and a 10 card card reader we can use one computer to compile all the images and then just drag one folder to each computer to make sure everyone has the hi-rezes they want/need with ease.

OT:
Jeremy,
I have a new 4Roc site up so if you want to update your sig you can. Also, if you want to add more info just let me know!
Clicky

While I'm off topic...
I replaced the compressor wheel on the turbo in my truck and I knew it was a big arse turbo but I didn't realize just how big it was. Turns out the stock turbo is a 80mm!!
