MAN! I wish I lived near you guys....schaeffer you think your 9 hour drive is bad???

Total Estimated Time: Total Distance: 1724.01 miles
28 hours, 46 minutes

NOW THAT IS A LONG WAY!!! Man, if i didn't have to work I would SERIOUSLY think about taking my girlfriend down there with me...a little Road Trip/Vacation for us. I dunno though, thats a damn long way!!!!

I promise I will come down one year for sure...just not sure when yet!

Yeah, I looked around my desk and saw my earmuffs so that made me think about earplugs. Otherwise I wouldn't have thought about it since I sleep in the truck anyways.

Earplugs, for those idiots who have to ride their motorcycles at 3am.

A table would be nice.

A GOOD pressure gauge. The normal ones aren't very accurate.

Hey Chris,

We've designated (i think somewhere in one of the emails) lunch on Saturday as a trade/sell/swap time. Bring some of it along.

I think someone was talking about organizing a swap meet type of setup - in case people had extra toys they wanted to part with.

We still doing that? I think I might have a few old things

Hope this is not a problem....

I just received the August issue of Cal 4 Wheel and there is an article in there entitled "Federal Judge Enforces Settlement Minimizing Oceano Dunes Closure". The most troubling statement in the article is this: "The settlement calls for an interim, temporary beach closure to milepost six
until the HCP is approved."

The full article is here. You can also visit www.oceanodunes.com for other general info.

I don't have my Pismo map at home so I can't look to see how this could affect us. Chris, do you know anything about it?

Re: Hope this is not a problem....

Yes, some of the beach is closed off at the far end of the park. Really though, this small closure has no real effect on our pismo playground.

Thanks Chris, I just wasn't sure where that closed off area would be.

Thanks for the weather update. Our final mass e-mailing will go out in the next day or so...stay tuned!

Can't wait to meet everyone, this is gonna be great!

Guys,

As previously advised, I said it would be helpful to bring a sheet of plywood that you could prop against your wheels/running board to cover the "gap" in between. While still advisable, you don't necessarily have to buy plywood. You can use medium-sized, broken down boxes (2). I'll post a pic later to show you what I'm talking about.

Edit: Here's the concept I'm talking about. Basically, its to block the wind and then you can comfortably set up camp on the other side. Line up a few 4runners like this in a 1/2 moon shape and you'll have a nice, cozy space to relax:

Thanks,
Bob

T-minus 5 days!

Unfortunately though, we have decided that its necessary to now close registration. We're currently looking at 30+ vehicles, which is WAY more than we ever expected. Months ago when the Pismo 4RJ was just a glimmer in our eyes, we thought we'd be lucky to have 10 vehicles show up.

So for those of you that are coming, we hope you're looking forward to this as much as we are...and if you didn't get to register for this one - we'll catch you next time!
