Alrighty fellas, I'm reposting this:
Guys,
I made two calls to local ATV rental shops:
BJ's is going to work out a price for us. They'll be calling me tomorrow. Here are their bikes and rates:
http://www.bjsatvrentals.com/special.cfm?pagenum=162
They recommend the 250EX for noobs and the 400EX for experienced riders.
PRICING:
250EX = $67.00 for 2 hrs
400EX = $90.00 for 2 hrs
Steve's ATVs is willing to take 10% off their rates for 5 or more riders.
http://www.stevesatv.com/index.html
This is a framed site so you'll have to navigate to their bikes. It's about the same price from what I can tell.
This is what I need AS SOON AS POSSIBLE and no later than Tuesday, August 6, 2003:
I need everyone who wants to ride (no fence sitters please) and is 100% committed to reply back in this thread and let me know they want to rent an ATV. The rental places would like a firm number and from there, I can negotiate a better price b/n the two companies.
I may just rent one as the wife is not wanting to ATV as of last night.

dude, it's a mini vacation. and as we all know, vacations = no showers, no shaving.

but this is a girl we're talking about with you jason, so i've decided that if she's that much of a princess she can't go a few hours with a shower, leave her. or yeah, lie to her if you really want her to come along .:

ALL-
useful information
http://www.keepercorp.com/prod/vrs.htm
These Keeper tow straps are the best you can use. Reason is becasue they stretch up to 20% during use so they dont' *shock* the trucks and ever since I snapped a tooth off in my front diff I'll never go back to standard ridgid tow straps.
Our trucks are only 4000 lbs max so I wouldn't go any larger than the 15k or 20k straps.
But, a $35 snatch strap is much better than a $500+ front diff!!!!!!

:pat:
and I just bought mine last week!
Okay, so I need you guys to help me on something here. I'm making a checklist for people to use and I'm not sure if I'm forgetting anything. All the major stuff (like tents) are either assigned or we already have.
sleeping bag
water
firewood
cool & warm clothing
personal toiletries
proper medication (if it applies)
list of items and drugs you are allergic to (in the event someone gets injured and is subsequently unconscious)
chair
sunblock
sunglasses
hat
camera
flashlight
Community items that are assigned or already taken care of:
lighter (with extra fluid)
duct tape
tent
tarp
wood plank
cooler
utensils and other eating supplies
and, of course, toilet paper for those
moments
Am I forgetting anything?

Hmmm...
didn't think about the music but my CDs are almost always in my truck. Didn't think about a separate boombox or anything though. Thanks Tom
Girls? Well, we have a few slated to come but most of them are related to me so I'm not going there

Didnt' know about the earplugs. That's helpful, thanks Steve!
I have one of those digital tire guages from Radio Shack as well as a small needle guage made by accu-something or another. Forgot to mention those.
Not sure if anyone's got a table but I figure my tailgate will work in a pinch
I guess my list is otherwise pretty complete.
Thanks guys, I appreciate the help
