did you specifically say "beach camping south of pier 2?" if not, they probably assume you want a spot w/ a table. those sites are already sold out. beach camping is pretty hard to sell out.

I'm sure someone will plug in the GPS coordinates, but basically, its about 10 min south of Pier #2. I say 10 min b/c its how long it takes given the speed limit.
Most RV'ers don't go past a certain point b/c of the closed off enviromental area that's close to the ocean.
In anycase, a bunch of us who went last year will stake out the spot. I believe Steve (Robinhood) will be one of the first ones there around noon. Look for a white 4runner w/ a silver tool box on the back and an Asian guy playing naked Twister by himself in the sand. That's ol' Steve-o

if you go south on the beach you'll eventually hit mile mike marker six, which also inludes a gate, shutting off that part of the costal beach. go east about 200 feet and the gate cuts off. go south and we normally camp right there before the restroom

Sorry Keith, no new mods at the moment. But I'm working up to that though. I don't mind bbq'in but I don't have a grill so I'm kinda limited
