that last picture is where it starts getting pretty bad. and a corola couldn't make this by any means. but yeah through this stretch of the road i stayed in 2wd most of the time excepot when i was trying to go over stuff. The whole country is rock, but for the most part this is not a crawlers paradise.

The worst areas are further up and through the pelegren.

Yea im usually pretty down for most things, but sorry to say, that looks pretty boring.

Here is some shots of up near the highlakes, now this was before the snow season last year when we were all mostly stock besides rear lockers.

This would be closer to what it is like now. There is usually snow up there until may or longer. There may be more snow, there may be less. I haven't been up there in a while (down truck) and i cannot comment on the current conditions. That is some of the terrain up there and there is some GREAT scenery.

Sorry for all those pics i posted, just wanted people to see what the highlakes has to offer.

Btw I believe in all those pics when i was running ifs i had 33's (ifs/rear locker), then later on i had sas/lockers ft/rr/36"s tires

The red/gray/84 pickup belongs to 85toy. He was running 31's and a rear locker

The all gray pickup was running 32's i believe. open diffs.

If you are mostly stock you should be fine. There is tons of people up there, and ive wheeled up there from stock as can be, to the ifs lift and then now. Its fun either way. I really love being up there.

If we do plan on going i would highly recommend, some extra clothes (jackets, shoes, socks, pants, If there is snow you will want to change if/when your clothes get soaked), you will need to bring recovery gear (tow straps, etc.. Whatever you have), food and drink. Whatever you may want. We are about an hour/two away from stores depending on how fast you can drive.

yeah mike, there is some stuff like that up in hogsback but getting there is a long ways. I am gonna search the lakes and see what kinda time frame we are looking at. I want to make sure there is enough for the stock guys as well as the more di hard crew, which i can see there is plenty at the lakes. let me do some reserch and if you go like we talked about earlier let me know so we can figure this all out.
The problem with Hogsback as i found out today is there is close to 15 miles of 10 mile and hr just to get out of the rocks.

For everyone that had planned to go to hogs back the trip my change slightly but not enough to change plans. That goes for all the out of towners to.

both places look cool. I think most of use are just looking for a new place to visit and have some relaxing fun. one thing to keep in mind is there are quite a bit of noob's Including my self that are looking too go, need some experience to try to learn the limits of there yota's. the scenery looks nice in all of those pics.

And yes im telling you there is plently of wheeling up there for the stock guys as well as the hardcore rigs.

Ok after much haggling by Mikey lol and my recent excursion up hogsback, i am gonna switch over to the highlakes trails, yes that is plural. there is enough trails to keep any skill level going and having fun. mike and I will figure out the best camping spot but everything else will be the same. the outa towners should still plan to meet me in vina and follow. . the date is the same as well....

hey john how we gonna plan on making it so we all leave all at once.

So we don't leave anyone that is on their way?
Want to plan we leave at "x" time on "x" day...

Do all of us have cb's?

we could all get on the same channel and keep in touch when people get local.
