New Arizona Wheeling Term: "Pulling a Yoder"
Last weekend on Log Corral, Myself and Mark G. climbed a waterfall. I encouraged Mike Nivett (azrain) to do the same. Figuring that if he could not make it he would just back down.
Well..........................
He had a bit of trouble and nailed the gas. Slammed the rear of the truck down and dented the rear bumper.
At the top, I think all 3 of us said in stereo "You pulled a Yoder"
You left a lot more behind than just all that steel that was scraped off out at Florence Junction.

MUHAHAHAHAHA!
It's a little deeper of a story than that... It was a steep, wet, half dirt, half rock waterfall climb and I was at the point of no return. There was no backing off the point I was at and with my 4.10's it was stalling quick. Probably wouldn't have rolled, but I had the distinct feeling that forward momentum lost would have resulted in more than just a bent wimpy stock rear bumper. I made it though!
Now 'ya gotta post that pic of me hammering the damn thing down to avoid further damage on the return trip
.
It was a fun trail, pretty tough to be rated only a 3.0, seemed a bit more than that for IFS rigs.
Time for a custom rear bumper!

Was hardly anything for front and rear lockers and a 125 to 1 low range. I barely even noticed it.

Just kidding, It was kinda wierd and you did slide down into the ditch, even I did.

That's a pretty hefty hammer you are swinging there azrain!!
I'm curious, do you drive automatic or 5 speed tranny? In that kind of situation I think an auto might buy some time at the expense of possibly overheating AT fluid.
Looks like a fun trail!!!!!!

Ehhhhhhh, just a 3lb dead blow... Gotta carry the right tools when out in the boonies 'ya know.
If I did have an auto tranny, I'm pretty certain that climbing the waterfall would have been a lot less eventful. Looks are deceiving though, that waterfall is pretty stout and when I fell in that first hole about midway up with the back tire the engine did one of those boggy "I'm dyin' ovah heah" things. It was go time!
It was fun and the damage wasn't major. Just an excuse to do something else new. Even the wife said "Now you need a big ol' heavy duty bumper like the front!" That's my girl.

I'm a little late reading this thread.
But, I'm convinced that that's all us 5 speed 4.10 guys can do sometimes. If we commit to an obstacle, and don't want to stall in the middle. Then we have to keep it moving and suffer the consequences.
Must be nice to have those gears Steve.
Make sure to show Adrian a good time when ihe comes in a few weeks.
