Hey all,
Just wanted to let everyone know that Trina & I had a really great time on the trails today. Hope everyone had as good a time as we did and can't wait to see some posted pic's
. Sorry to say that we will not be able to make the Sunday run due to many "Honey-Do" projects that we have put off way too long.
Later,
Scott & Trina

Sorry I couldn't make the run on Saturday, but I dropped the SC in on Saturday and have been playing with it ever since. Is there anything scheduled for Labor Day weekend?

THANK YOU ALL
Hey all,
we made it back, GOD it was sad leaving, but i just wanted to thank every one that made us feel at home, we felt very welcome, all of you made a great trip, even better. The weather was great, the senery was awesome, and the people we met, were even better.
DARREN,
a special THANK YOU, for getting things lined up, not letting us get lost, and getting us back in one peice, i never would have tried any of them trails by myself, so THANK YOU.
EVERYONE that went with us,
it was nice to meet you all, seems like a really great group of people, we arethinking about coming back in March, then again in Aug. sometime with the kids, and we will be better prepared for a night of camping.
If any of you are in the Kansas City area, PLEASE stop, let us know when you would be here, we will show you arround, but i honestly have no idea, why, anyone would want to leave that beautiful area, lol, its awesome there.
THANKX again,
hope to see you all soon,
Ric and Edie

Ric and Edie, you're very welcome. I'm glad Colorado and its people treated you well. I'm glad you made great use of your time while you were here. It was a pleasure serving as a tour guide for a bit and glad you got to see some awesome country. We'll look forward to round two and I'm sure you're already counting the days!
To all who came to the dinner and or the trail runs, thank you for helping make it a great turnout. It was fun.
Rich and Doug, nothing has been made official for this weekend. Cade had previously mentioned about going over to Schofield, but last I heard from him, he was debating on doing a closer trail run. I don't know what I'm going to do yet. I'm going to stay in town for the CU/CSU game. After that, I am game I suppose. If someone is wanting to go somewhere, just be sure to start a different thread!
Alan, thanks for emailing me those pictures. They are all sweet as are the ones you put up. I just love this one
:
It kind of puts the hill in perspective like you said.
Here's one of my Toyota buddies filling up the trail:

Actually, Jeff had taken that road before, but we didn't realize at the time that was the same one I was referring to. I pretty much know where the turnoff is now, but when we came onto it, it seemed further east than I thought it would be. I *might* try to find that elusive beast this weekend, but not sure. I didn't see any cairn at the entrance.

I recognized the road junction, but we figured that trail was different from the one Darren was looking for. That's what's known as Glacier Ridge in at least one trail book (not Chuck Wells though) since it starts next to Glacier Peak. It extends off the top of Georgia Pass and has one rocky section maybe 1/8 mile long that can be challenging. I'd love to drive up that now. I only drove down it when I had only about 2000 miles on the 4Runner back in the summer of 2000. Here's 2 wimpy pics when the only mod I had was sliders: Pic 1 Pic 2

Well that's too bad. Going up it is really fun. But extreamly hard to find from the bottom Middle Fork road.
If this wasn't the "summer of babies" for me I could have went and led us up there.
Next year for sure.

New Thread?
What's the new thread that I should look for for plans for this weekend? The schofield thing is probably out for me now (Tails of bordom due to a less than challenging trail and the impending weather making camping questionable), but I would like to go up at some point.
Marmot - were you still looking at going up south St. Vrain? What day? Room for a couple more?

Okay, I'll take a shot.
You're wanting to see snow on the peaks, but still want to be able to drive on some of the high roads? Basically, early June is the only time you'll get those two things to happen at the same time. All the roads are still snowed under any earlier than that.
No problem about bringing a Chevy out. It's not about brand loyalties or dislikes, it's about having fun and enjoying the beauty. Just don't count on me being there if they decide to come.
Kidding!
