I've heard the rear springs fix all theory and have a feeling this can't wait till post DV...

I hope it's ok for me to join you guys.
I'll be bringing my wife and two kids 8&12 yrs.
Most likely we'll camp. I have to look into that side of things.
After DV we'll be heading to Pismo for some sand fun then down to Santa Barbara for some further R&R in a motel after a week or so of "roughing it".
Hopefully some guys from T4R will join too. We're in discussions about that
Cheers

On the Mar 25th trip is it likely we will get into any snow trails?
Whats the deal regarding the wooden huts in the above link? Are they for rent? Where can i find more info on them?
Thanks
Mark
PS - should mention I'm an expat Aussie living in SoCal for last 6months. So far have only done one off road trip to Anza Borrego with T4R guys - was lots of fun.

I still need to compile some form of itinerary for the trip so Scott can approve, disapprove, change, add, delete or just tell me to bugger off

The roommate and I checked out a new place yesterday and pending application approval will probably be moving that weekend (or moved in and settling in) Anyways, between moving expenses, packing/unpacking, adjusting pets to new enviroment (did anyone catch that hilarious thread about how to get the dog to poop in the new yard? I stopped reading at "you pee in a spot and let your dog pee there" sigh, boys...) I'll be too tapped out $ and tired to enjoy the weekend.
Have a great time guys. Catch you next time (hopefully better prepared)
The upside: house with a GARAGE that I can work in. And thanks to the numerous postings on "how to" fix the saggy ass, (thanks Rob on that one!) I'll probably spend the weekend doing coils and shocks instead. Maybe I can get in my light covers and fix that speedometer cable too...hmmm.
Suggestions on shocks for a DD/mild offroader, anyone? Most I know about brands and such is to stay the hell away from Midas. (at least where I come from)

Dont worry I'll leave Bliksem in Bob's tent. He will surely loose the "war of the winds" with Bliksem. The dog has been killing me at home this week, I think the paint is peeling of the house.

oh man... it's taking the park service at least 8 months to repair the place after the last natural disaster that happenned there, now you guys are lining up the next one...
Hey all, better make plans to make this trip. May be the last time "Death Valley" is just a name...

I'll just give him some scarps, meat and eggs and then leave him with you.
The enamel will pop off your teeth, if you guys are in the same tent.
But as Scott said to preserve DV, I will just keep him on his scheduled diet as I dont want the paint to pop of my 4R and kill all the tourists.

Ok Scott, here is my suggested agenda (open for changes) but at least a starting point.
As I will be there from Sat Morn to Tue Lunch the itinerary is setup as such. Everybody will also notice that the days might be very full, so we will have to get breakfest early fill up and get going. Oh and pack lunch
I would assume everybody will drive up Friday night, so we can start Sat morning.
I also tried to make sure that we stat at either Stoepipe Wells or Frunace Creek and circle back to one.
Sat:
- Start Stovepipe Wells (breakfest ?? + gas)
- Scotty's castle (need to do some sightseeing as well, chicks like it )
- Ubehebe Crater
- Race track
- Lippencott or Hidden Valley
- Saline Valley Rd
- 190
- Cottonwood caynon (time allowing)
- Back at Stovepipe wells (Dinner)
Sun:
- Start Furnace creek (Breakfest?? + gas)
- West side road (Maybe do one of the canyon roads off it ?? )
- Mengel Pass Trail (Butte Valley Road)
- Pleasant Canyon Loop (If time allows probably not, unless we can do Butte Valley in real good time)
- Ballarat
- Wildrose
- Emigrant Canyon
- Stovepipe Wells (or Furnace Creek Dinner)
Mon:
- Start Stovepipe (you know the drill)
- Titus Canyon (Hope is repaired by then or we can see if a 4Runner can clear a 5ft trench )
- Badwater and Devil’s Golf course ( do a quick round of golf )
- Artist Palette
- Chill out somewhere and play (Dunes??)
- Dinner Furnace or StovepipeWells
Tue
- Start Furnace creek (yeah gas and breakfest)
- Echo Canyon (see eye of the needle)
- Dante’s view
- Lunch at Frunace creek
- I got to leave then
Any suggestions welcome. Do you think timing will work for everyday? I tried to make less driving and trails on Mon and Tue, as I suspect a number people will only Join Sat and Sun doing more driving then.
