hey guys, ive been looking at a new truck lately and im wondering what yall have to say about it, its a 1996 tacoma 4x4, its a 5- speed with the 3.4 v6, its got 218,000 miles and its clean enough to eat off of, u can tell its been babied, he said hed like to get 5500 out of it but that seemed a little high for 218,000 miles, any ideas?

It depends, up here (PA) you could easily get 6K for that.

 

its really clean, runs strong, the only thing is the a/c isnt cold its cool, maybe talk him down to 4500? its got a rash on the back side of the bed but thats it

 

WhAt are they asking for similar trucks in FLA? Is this the only one?

I wanted one last year and couldn't find a price I was comfortable with. They seemed to be priced at the rust recall buyback price but it is too old to be recalled.

 

thats the problem dropzone, u cant find a 3.4 5speed 4x4 down here, there all 3.0, and all the trucks i seem to find are either in showroom condition or beat to hell, this is considered better than average

I just bought an FJ when my trans went out in the taco, and now im ready to sell the taco. It will have a replacement toyota transmission with transferrable 12 mos warranty and no defects mechanically. The only flaws are little door dings, some small surface rust spots, some door panel damage from the dogs, and other interior superficial defects.

do you think it's worth trying to sell with bad tranny and catalytic converter? It's going to cost about 3500 to get it all dialed in for sale...
