Awesome bro thanks for starting the thread. Very helpful for a noob like me to get acclimated to the off-road/ mechanic/toyota world. When i was 16 i rolled my 4runner (unfortunately on the blvd.) but i always had the itch to get a yota again, now at 30 i have arrived with fixer upper Good luck on finding your rig

Nothing that went on with yotatech. I went to Big Bear with my neighbors and I only invited Mark (chefyota4x4) because he is the only local guy that I know that has a sfa with dual lockers. The only one I knew that could hang with the rest of the group. No offense. Just know my neighbors don't like waiting on people haha.

Maybe u can come along next time. Should be fun. I jist wanna finish buikding my front plate bumper before i go on any other trips though.

Mostly freestyle and also based on what I have seen off the other brands I liked sch as CBI 4xInnovations, addicted offroad and Relentless. I have a build thread for the front bumper I'm making if you would like to see how I'm making it.

Also since u live in the Los Angeles area. I would recommend BOBCO metal on Alameda blvd. I believe in the city of Vernon. I went to them for all my steel when I built my rear bumper and tire carrier. And the best part about it is that you can dig through the big cuts of scrap metal and buy those for a heck of a lot cheaper then buying a full sheet at full price.

my welding teacher also suggested bobco.
cbi and armorology have a nice design also. also 4xinno and addidcted.
will go and get some rem/scrap for the tire carrier/swingout.

I used the EMS offroad tire carrier kit. But honestly if I were to do it again I would get the monster spindle off ebay the vendor is located in San diego ca. Its a little thicker. Much better to handle a huge tire on an offroad truck. Just my opinion.

couldn't find the HD one you refer to but did see EMS site, and competition4x4's version.

Saw plenty of central and northern Cal people at ultimate yota Pismo Jamboree, but not a lot of SoCal, in other words LA! Lol.

Maybe there are other web centered ways to inform more people. Lots of the guys up there that I spoke to couldn't stand YotaTech anymore, and I'm not sure exactly why, but they definitely are not checking in here very much anymore. I've noticed its been fairly dead... At least compared to last summer. Maybe I just need to start some new subscriptions and delete some older ones, you know what I mean? Hahaha.

If possible, I would like to plan very decent trip with plenty of advance notice, for after Thanksgiving. I will be going to Lake Havasu and Parker area twice in the next 6 weeks or so... Also, will be going to Laughlin for a couple days on the 6th.... I would like to spend at least a few hours wheeling in the area, but I like to keep it some more controlled when I go by myself ,... Especially since I am taking my mother to her 63rd high school reunion on that trip... Don't want her having to wait around for a whole day while I do a major repair. Lol.

There has got to be a way and the not too distant future to try and get as many people who read this on the same page for the same date to the same place... SoCal YotaTech Mini-Jamboree. Hehe

Would be rrally nice to get a YotaTech run out in big bear. But I have no sense of directuon to lead how to get there because I've only done it twice lol. Only person I know that knows those trails(ruben) doesn't like going in big groups because he has no patience to wait on people. I dunno man. But I would really enjoy a YotaTech run out there

It wouldn't be too much of a problem with UPS. I had great reception up there. I have my TomTom for backup as well. Just have to load it up with some specifics I guess. All you really need is a good map though. I posted quite a few on my thread that I will also paste here.....

******************************

Just wanted to share the link to a San Bernardino area map that is quite extensive. Just click on the link from your PC so you can print it out. I might end up doing it and having it laminated, or maybe a better one......

Some GPS stuffs....

.........

The second link shows the site that I got it from and mentions Cleghorn, a trail that I had quite a bit of fun on several years ago. The reason I think it would be a good trip for some of us SoCal guys is that we could invite any truck, IFSC or not, and on the more difficult parts they could go around, whereas Big Bear doesn't really always allow you that luxury. Maybe your buddy with the tan pickup can go, too, Richard?

Well, if Toyotech isn't going to do the Nov. 1-3 event in Pismo,... I could do those dates, ....maybe. You mean a day trip? I will camp, if I can find the time, next time we are going for a day trip. I'll be trippin out for a couple days before they get their. Or after... I would like to anyway...

Big Bear Off-Road Trip Saturday 11/16/2013

Sorry guys I know this is kinda short notice being 2 days away and all but we figured we'd invite you all for the trip anyway. We've known about this trip for about a week or so but i figured we would post this now for you guys who would like to join us.

Chefyota4x4, and I will be taking "Red Wagon"(fellow yotatech member) on a trip to Big Bear CA. Possibly gonna be doing the John Bull trail(the hardest trail in Big Bear). Red Wagon is coming all the way down here from Canada and we wanna show him a good time and make his trip worth while. We will all be staying the night in a hotel out there starting tomorrow night. And the Offroading will begin early saturday morning.

If you are interested in coming i would recommend PM'ing Chef for more info cuz i'm just tagging along where ever they go lol. You can PM me as well but he will probably be able to better answer your questions.

If you want to come i would at least recommend you guys to have the following at the bare minimum.
- Minimum of 33" tires or bigger
- Rock sliders
- Minimum of 1 locker(2 would be much more preferred and a heck of a lot easier on everybody)
- If you have 1 locker it wouldnt hurt to have a winch on your rig.
- Solid axle would be much more easy for you to get through the trail but if you dont its okay. Just letting you know you might struggle more.

Sorry for the requirement list. I just put that there because in the few times i have been out to Big Bear i have most definitely used my rock sliders every time and if you dont have them you will more then likely come back with damage; If you dont care about damage well oh well then lol all good with me. People that go up there sometimes use 35" and bigger and have dug out holes in the floor already making it much harder to get through the trail at some parts. Even my rig was having a hard time in some parts with 33's and 2 lockers. which is why i i say do not come if you have anything smaller then a set of 33's. I am not trying to discourage anybody I just don't want to break my rig pulling somebody out. i would much rather have somebody be able to get through everything themselves with possibly using their winches if needed) And im sure Mark(Chefyota4x4) would agree with me 100% on that.

If we do john bull i can almost guarantee you wont get though without 1 locker minimum and the help of a winch. This trail is possible just 2 lockers and no winch.( i did it like that last time.)

Anyway like i said guys its kind of a really last minute notice but if you can come and meet these requirements then shoot us a PM and join us for some offroading fun.

Hey, Anthony here. I just came back from running Dishpan Spring couple of weeks ago. We ran down. Up hill is harder but down hill is scarier, I think.
Have fun up there. I'll have to wheel with you and Mark one of these days. You can fine some video of us if you search "sot dishpan" on Youtube.
