I was. That picture is actually from TDS last year. I only stuck around briefly because I couldn't stand all the drunken idiots.

Nice! I knew your truck looked familiar there. I agree lots of drunks that day. We just camped out away from all the people.

King of the Hammers (KOH) is nearing, who is planning on going or thinking about it? I am meeting Tim Lund from Wild West Off road. He is bringing me UCA / LCA cores from Washington. KOH is a huge spectacular in our backyard. Its a few hours drive, a day trip.

Also TDS and the Baja 250 are nearing.

Gonna start an Event thread maybe... Throw it on Instagram as well. REALLY wanting to go to this , I just have to be well enough.

You guys are soo lucky! I'm hating my shift/job location change right about now. I would have loved to meet up with you guys for a weekend trip. Oh well school calls for sacrifice. :'(

Have fun though. And this time take pix of all you guys in action! Felt bad cuz we didn't get any good shots of your t100 at Angels Crest.

Its a 1989 Isuzu trooper stock came with aisin warner auto trans, transfer case, and manual locking hubs, front and rear 477 gears, con Ferr rack and 2 7inch Hellas with glass lenses and metal frames .... still saving for another yota but it'll do for now

So, I was creeping around on instagram the other day and both redeth and chefyota popped up on my feed so I started following you both. Really makes me want to get out and wheel. I'm currently on "hiatus" right now so funds are low, but I'd love to get out and do a local crawl with you guys.
I know you'll be in Big Bear this weekend but I've got family in town. If you're available some time this or next month, I'm down for a meet and greet/wheeling mini trip. Let me know what'll work for you guys.

Brad

Big Bear Meet & Wheel/6-22-14:

Big Bear Meet & Wheel 2/ 6-22-14:

Meeting here and leaving by hopefully 9am....

Dennys on Big Bear Boulevard. ....

http://goo.gl/maps/3QFGf

So far it looks like anywhere from: 4 to 10 trucks will be there!

Bring water, toilet paper in trouble, and do some research as to whether you're ready will be capable to handle John Bull. Pretty much anyone with a four wheel drive and limited modifications can go, but some trails that are black diamonds, like John Bull, I would not recommend and do not want to be pulling anyone up or down for half of the day.....

Recommended but not required pre-requisites for John Bull Black Diamond run are: at least 32 inch tires, some lift ( especially if independent suspension), at least one locker, preferably some armor, some trail recovery gear but most of that, will be covered by others, and definitely bring water, lunch and a map of the area trails, what you can download and preferably print out as well, from here...

http://backcountry4x4.com/BigBearAreaTrailMap.html

Here is a screenshot of those maps. But definitely download them!.....

The trip was fun! Minimal carnage. We had 10 Toyotas and two Jeeps. Got lost at the end of the trail making our way back to the highway. Fun fire roads and drifting around the corners. One Jeep rolled onto its side. No injuries, minimal damage, easily righted. Good times!
