Wow, missed out on a lot of web wheeling while I was down in Florida for a week.

Got back home and threw on that new CV boot- noticed something a little odd. Passenger side, where the axle / CV tulip goes into the differential has a lot of play in it. Not the in/out play, a little bit is normal and doesn't bother me, but there's a lot of side-side / up-down movement. Is that normal or indicative of a major problem (come on, no IFS jokes here)?
I will probably end up babying that thing until eventually I have enough $$ to do a regear and lockers. Unfortunately, THAT idea is a while off - something like a Christmas '07 timeframe.

I need to get in to work Monday before I know for sure when I'll be going to St Louis, but right now I'm betting Oct 23rd-24th. If it ends up being the next weekend, we could stop by Rocktoberfest... will keep you posted on that.

I've got some other responsibilities that will take a couple weekends to catch up with, so I probably won't make anything in October.

Yeah I'm going down and I think Fink was thinking if he wasn't too busy he might go down for a day also. It should be a blast.

Holiday season? Holiday season = less work and more play. Don't you know the meaning of Christmas? I agree we shouldn't do anything the weekend of the 23rd. But there's 3 weeks before that that are open game.

This year, work has me on the road most of December.

Dec 3rd I drive up to St. Louis, then drive back on Dec 8th - You guys got anything planned? I was thinking I might hit Cassville again on the way back just for kicks. I mean, I spent $18 on maps so I wanna use them more than once, ya know? Anybody else up for a trail or two?

Then I have to be in Florida the week before Xmas - there's family there and Jennifer is going along so we'll probably spend a few days and stay for Xmas. Delta lost my bag last time I flew (and they haven't even FOUND it yet!), and I always get the cold from the big flying germbucket (airplane), so if I can persuade Jennifer, we'll drive down to Florida (in her car).

After that I should be home until around mid-April...

ACT and DD

I'm "busy" Saturday the 2nd for defensive driving and Saturday the 9th for the ACT...

for those who don't know... i got a speeding ticket sometime a week or so ago...

yes... i was in the runner.

1½ - 2 mile straight, DOWNHILL road + 4Runner + 30mph speed limit = $150 speeding ticket.

Cory,

That should work, I'll keep you updated for any changes. Most likely, I will actually be finished with work in St Louis on Thursday (the 7th) and spend the night there Thursday night.
I should be headed back from St Louis the morning of the 8th, Google Maps say it's a 5 hour trip to Monett, but I can start early and be at your house mid-morning. What should I aim for, 9 AM?

I can give you a holler on Thursday to let you know how things are shaping up, and firm up the plans.

Keith,
Good luck on that ACT! go in there and show 'em how it's done.
Bummer about the ticket, funny though, how you gotta go to defensive driving, when you don't really have a problem with your defensive game... Getting caught and ticketed when you're driving offensively means you need a class called Evasion Tactics or maybe Slick Willie's Smooth Talk for Any Situation, not "defensive" driving. That's for after someone else plows into you.

LOL... nice post! Good luck on the ACT too Keith...

So John, we're looking at wheeling on the 8th, not the 9th right?

Yeah, the 8th.

There's a very slight chance that, if there are lots of problems (or if the FAA guy is really anal), I may have to work some on Friday. But this is a copy job (mostly) so everything on my end should pass examination, with nothing for me to do all week.

Hey, another thought though, I wouldn't mind wrenchin' around your place on your truck or the Buick, if you needed a hand with anything. Anything you need a hand with?
