Stock radio???

The stock radio in my 95 4runner is crapping out....probably too much dust and bouncing.

I have an opportunity to buy a stock radio with the same setup..CD, Cassette from a 2004 Taco..

Will it work? both are double din..what else should I look for?

Not trying to screw somebody out of a deal but I have 2 of those radio/cd/tape head units in the garage and you can have one of them. You can also get the tool bag I have been holding for you for oh...like ....3 months now. I know I know you are soooo busy with your SAS. JK

Come and get it!

Funny thing is that Eric complained about skipping with his stock radio, but I have no problems whatsoever with mine....maybe there is a difference between Eric's model and the kind my truck has.

I'm surprised that your CD player lasted this long, Marc. I remember that the CD player in my dad's 91 runner ate it about a year after he had it.

I am gonna give him the one from the 04 Taco. It looks exactly the same as my old factory one but is in a little better shape.

Maybe mine skipped because I wheel so much harder than you guys ...............

Ummmm yeah, I was just kidding there! Turtle Taco and Stink bug Boy. I am so gonna get spanked the next time I do a run with the sas and long travel rigs.

In 90% of the cases, all Toys that have identical mounting also have the same plugs
I know my ex 85 Celica would fit into the 92 4Run and friends, I think his was a 96-98 pickup/toco.
My 4Run cd skipped also, I got 3 replacenets and after a short time the little rubber shocks inside go flat and make the disk bounce against the insertion plate, I think this is most common in hot climate area.
If you replace the old one, Keep the brackets from the side of the old unit, they will come in handy again.

The one thing you need to watch out for is the late model Camry/Highlander/Rav/Celica and I think Sienna. The chassis is double DIN, but the faceplate is a nonstandard wider one.

The 2nd gen Tacos and the 3rd gen Runners have surprisingly different backs to them. Eric had the one from his runner and his wife's tacoma and the backs have different plugs running into them. The tacoma radio also had what looks like a large heatsink in the back.
