Just give me the dang manifold!!! Ahhh

i'v'e been working on removing my intake manifold on my 94 4x4 pu 22re. everything is unbolted and disconnected except the large cluster of wires that go between the middle of the manifold. they seem to continue on into oblivion without a main disconnect somewhere. so can anyone help me with the last step so i can just remove the dang manifold!!!

You have to thread the wires down through the manifold. Just take it slowly.

Yep, what he said, all the wiring has to be disconnected and feed back up through the manifold. It does not really take that long just a big pain.

ok maybe i'm not being descriptive enough. i've disconnected all the wires that i could get too but it looks like there still wires that are a part of the cluster that go into the cab or somewhere i can't get too. aaaahhhh i wish i had a camera to post pics with. maybe that'll be my christmas gift to myself

when i disconnect the wires i'll start from the driver's side at the afm and work my way back to the intake. If you have yet to do so go ahead and remove the upper part of the intake (it's two pieces) then try to feed the wiring harness through. So to recap how i do it start disconnecting wires and labeling them as you go starting from the afm running along the firewall behind the valve cover to the upper intake manifold. When you reach the upper intake disconnect the cold start switch, tps and all other switches that are on top of the valve cover. When you get to that point remove the upper intake and feed the wires through. After removing the upper part and moving the wires including the fuel injectors cold start switch things like that then remove the lower part of the intake.

ok so i figured it out. every connection under the hood i already disconnected, but the cluster still routed into the cab on one end and down under to the tranny on the other. so i picked the tranny route cuz i could see all the connections there. problem solved. thanks for your help though guys. much appreciated anyways.

So im here trying to take my intake manifold off. Top is done. Bottom seems to be trouble? How do most of you go about doing this? Should there radiator fluid spilling everywhere? It also looks like I need to possible undo/loosen the thermostat? or pull off the radiator hose...? I'm replacing my gasket btw -_-

Red face

I most times split the manifold into it`s upper and lower parts.

With my big hands it makes it much easier.

For what it is worth that Harness goes into the computer.
