Best place to buy VAFM

Dang those things are expensive! Me and my dad are working on a 94 with the 22re and it looks like the VAFM is bad. Thing is like $250 new. Anybody know of a cheaper option out there? This is just going to be a farm truck so even a good used one would be fine.

You should be able to find one in a salvage yard, I would think. The sensitive parts are well-sealed, so most of them should be in good shape even if they've been sitting in the yard for a few years.

What's wrong with yours? It's a simple device and it may be possible to rehab it. Take a razor blade and open up the top, take some circuit cleaner and gently clean the wiper arm and strip, make sure all the terminal connections are intact, and it should be good. Just make sure you seal it up again good with silicone RTV. Do NOT remove the screws holding the connector in!

I will try that. I'm not in front of it right now, but when I get a chance I'll give it a shot. We found a couple at a salvage yard for $50 and may go get one. Just don't want to spend $250 on it lol

Also, if anybody has a good used one they'd sell i would be interested.

Test it first. http://personal.utulsa.edu/~nathan-b...92volumeai.pdf There's no better way to waste your life (and money) than buying replacement parts because one "looks like" it is bad.

Just in case you weren't following what RJR warned about:
