Dashboard light

My wife just bought an Acura and it had an amber dashboard lighting. Would it be possible to change the Toyota dashboard lighting to an amber color? If it is, where can I get a replacement amber dashboard light?

your small light bulbs in the combo meter and other places have what we like to call colored "condoms" on the bulb. You can't buy replacement condums, already tried. And if ya found some on a different make/model and they some how were the same ones then that would work, although good luck. Trying to change them over is a pain too, because often times they are brittle, especially after a little wear and tear and won't come off with out ripping and don't neccessarily want to go back on

Could you just use colored bulbs without the love glove?

I don't know if they make colored bulbs... but the redneck way is to get a sharpie in whatever color and color them yourself... LMAO (done that sadly)

Don't buy colored bulbs. I bought some blue ones and after a couple months the color went from a brilliant blue, to the dull greenish looking stock color. The coating fades. You could always get some l.e.d.'s and rig something up that way..

From what i've gathered, colored bulbs and leds tend to be "spotty" and very directed. They dont blend well. I tried an led setup myself, determined it a waste of time and bought some speedhut gauges which I am very happy with.
