Lightbulb winch set-up with trail gear winch plate

Hey yota, I purchased TG winch plate for my 93 pickup.
I'm planning to install just that . Along with a winch. Looking at the super winch 9k.

Now this plate is held on with 4 bolts only to the Frame...

Should I be worried..?

I'm thinking putting a couple of tack weld to reinforce it

I don't want any high bumper or stinger. Just a basic recovery tool.


Thoughts and opinions? .

I would check out T-G's website to see how their bumpers mount. I thought there was provisions for 6 bolts.
I don't have my winch mounted yet but I ended up fully welding my T-G winch plate to the front.

Youll want to reinforce the front of the frame, or weld the mount on. The nuts of the frame like to pull out under load. Plus the plate adds 2 more mounting holes.

I got this plate from 4xinnovations, but there are a few other companies that sell them too.

Ordered the frame support and got the TG winch plate all painted and ready. Received the new super wince 9500.

Almost finish. .

Got similar set-up. I welded support on. Have done some good pulls with it with out problem.

I always also add a piece that ties the front of the frame where the tie down point and hook was .

Always bolt every thing on so if something happens or I want to sell it comes off pretty easy.

I added the 1/4 support Frame from 4x4inovaction. And the bolted the winch plate. Also added a few tack weld
Tack welds can be grinder off if ever needed to come off.
I haven't had time to go out and play with it
But will next week

I actually spot welded the two bolts for the winch plate. Do intent to do same for winch. Just as an anti theft measure. I did it in an easy to get to place so I can access it with an angle grinder.
