2nd Gen! 2-door!!!
Owned 2 2-doors! One new 1992!!! Sooo Nice, Black V6 Loaded! Sorry to say I was young and dumb... 9 months old and I killed it in a parking lot... I bought the second one only a year ago... 1990 base model 4cyl... If I can talk my wife into letting me keep it, it will be SAS and 7M-GTE...

This is a pretty biased poll.

I vote for what I own (of course). It seems there more 3rd gen than any other groups. I personally like the style of the 3rd gen myself, but I like the 4th more.

Most of the members here own 3rd gens so it is a bit biased since most of us own our favorite.

For some reason the second gen body style has never done anything for me, but I really can't stand the brand new ones, so my list is:
1. 1st gen
2. 3rd gen
3. 2nd gen
4. 4th gen

In my opinion a lifted first gen with cutout flares is the most dead sexy of 4runners in existence, in a rugged sense. The 3rd gens can be made to look rugged as well, but I think they really lend themselves to looking classy.

4th and 3rd gens without question are the best 4runners to invest in. Great looking plus most advanced mechanially. Honestly speaking my 4th gen sport edition recieves a hugh amount of stares. Bound to happen, its a yota!!

Ok, am I the only one who thinks the body style and interior or the second and third gen 4runners are VERY similar? I choose the early 2nd gens before the composite headlamps, not because I have one, but because I just like the look.

all things considered though, 3rd gen gets the nod because of the power of the 3.4 and available e-locker. 4th gen?, in my opinion it runs a close second to the Avalanche for the ugliest truck ever award.

I love the look of a 1st gen without the top, but I dont care for the look of the top itself.

I dont think i voted yet.....

I'm stuck between 1st gen and 2nd....they both appeal to me but i am leaning towards the 1st gen.... there just can't be a similar ride with any other toyota unless you cut the top of a newer one or put seats in a truck....

I think i'm going to hope for one with a sunroof too, with that and the fibertop off it'll be almost completely uncovered! hehe....

heh you think that's fun.
I drove around all summer with no doors, roof, tailgate (or interior for that matter) or sunroof.
Can you say breezey (89 4runner)

LOL. that must have been fun.... is taking the doors off a violation of any laws?? i know jeeps can probably do it...

Ah i'd never do it anyway on the streets...can you imagine getting t-boned without a door there to keep sharp stuff from cutting you up? or the car hitting you as well as the side of your truck?? lol...

Seriously, 4Runners arent my 1st choice, but I'd go for a 2nd gen if I had to.

accually i think my 1st gen has a quieter interior than my dads 3rd gen..of course his was a wreck...firewall up and the drivers side are all new (we didnt fix it or wreck it)

I like all the body styles, though 4th does seem to not have a style of it's own, but has taken bits and pieces of the competition.
2nd is my fav body style, but 1st Gen Runner gets major props for removable roof.
So I voted for 1st gen

Lots of people mistake my xCab w/ a cap for a 2nd gen Runner.

I have never seen a UFO or 2 door 4Runner.
