Oh Yeah and of course came with the "TOYOTA" in the grill no need to mod that front grill as Toy built it right.

I have owned the 2nd gen and the 1st gen. I personaly prefer the 1st gen. I have driven the 3rd gen and like the lines on it better than the 2nd gen. as far as the 4th gen unless it perfoms better than it looks I would not buy one. It looks low slung, like the wife and kids should be riding in it. Also while I at it, is there a reason all of the foriegn trucks and suv's have become so large (fat Americans?) over the years? I like my 1st gen b/c with 35's on it it looks huge, and it performs like a truck not a camry.

The 2nd gens have the best looks IMO, but maybe I'm biased because my dad owns a nice one that I first hit the trails with. Sure, the 3.0 sucked and the CD player stopped working, but I just loved it - I don't know why.

I own my 3rd Gen. I was previous owners of both 1st and 2nd gens. And I can say that the 1st and 2nd could wheel better stock than the 3rd, but I enjoy the amenities that the 3rd has. And yes my 3rd Gen has taken me to a lot of places, so it is no slouch in the wheelin' department. As for the 4th, went to the dark side of mall cruisers and soccer moms with looks and TOO many amenities. Thank goodness for the FJ Cruiser and aftermarket products to make my 3rd better than it already was

I drove a 4th gen the other day,, too much feel of like a sequoia to me. Just too big and minivan like. They do look good lifted with the right wheels and I hate to say it but its the only gen 4runner that looks good on 20 inch plus wheels. I wouldnt do it. I own a 3rd gen so I voted for it cuz I love it to death

1st gen. 3rd's a dime a dozen in my area and the guys in the 1G's I do see always wave at me or nod.

And when the top is off, I get the full-neck swivel from every monkey in a modded jeep.

But, I think my order would be this:

1) 1st Gen
2) 3rd Gen
3) 4th Gen
4) 2nd Gen

DITTO on the Order The First Gen is By Far the Coolest Though!

I like the 1st gens mostly for their removable top, but after that its 2nd, 3rd, and finally 4th, liking the 4th a lot less than all the others. I do have a special liking for the 2door 2nd gens, though dont know why...

Guess it would be 1st and then 3rd for me.

Thought about going with a 3rd a couple weeks ago. Decided to go with fixin' the 1st Gen.

While the 1st and 2nd generation are very fun and extremely easy to modify, I will always and forever love my 3rd Generation. I have test driven the 4 generation......All I can say is I don't feel the 4Runner anymore... The V8 is good and all, but I felt like I was driving my mothers Lexus ES 300 with the power and verastility of the 4Runner, for the love of god when i drive and suv i want to feel like i am driving and suv, the 4gen seems to low and just not suv enough, including the dial to engage the 4wd, what is toyota becoming gm or ford? press a button or turna nob and boom your in 4wd, i need the lever assurance that i am in 4wd.

Not mine BTW.
