weatherproofing seats

I'm looking at buying a rear seat for the bed of my truck. I don't have a shell yet, but I do plan on getting one. I was looking to get some leather or vinyl seats. I was wondering if there's a chemical coat I can put on the seats to protect them from the sun and rain and keep them from ripping. I am getting a seat that can easily unbolt and unmount, and I park my truck in a parking garage so I don't plan on making it a habit to have them in the sun all day long. But until I get the shell and in the event it's really hot or it begins to rain or snow, I want the seats to be protected.

Anyone know of anything? Rubberised bedliner is a little excessive, but it's still an option.

those are very nice seat covers. And expensive! Might be worth it in the long run.

Or as suggested, plastic trash bags. I never even thought of that.

Mink oil eh? I actually have some of that around the house. Just not enough for an entire seat.

Why would you want a wet suit for something you want to protect from water Wet suits are designed to keep a layer of water against yor skin or in this case it would be the seat. A dry suit would be a much better comapison for the wetokole
