better check on parts availability...


Toyomotorparts tells me that there are 2 pistons in the USA for my 1982 diesel L, and NO rings at all. The piston listed on their site are for 1981. What does this mean (I'll bet the parts listed are compatible)? It means might be IMPOSSIBLE to find parts you can be sure will fit.

 

You might try some other sites that also say they have them.

Anyway...I thought we were talking about a 2L. So it may or may not not be as difficult to source pistons for as the L. For all we know(though it more than likely is NOT as difficult). And the rings for it are easy to find(non-OEM atleast). That much is certain(and OEM rings are also most likely available).

You'd think the ready availability of parts for it might have something to do with the fact that UNLIKE THE L, TOYOTA IS STILL PRODUCING THE 2L(AND ITS VARIANTS) FOR USE IN OTHER PARTS OF THE WORLD TO THIS VERY DAY!!!

CASE CLOSED ON THAT SUBJECT.
