Using thread sealant in low temps

I'm hoping to replace the oil pump o-ring on my truck before I head out this spring. This would mean doing it in at most 30-degree temps. Maybe 40 if I'm lucky. But most likely 20s or 30s.

There's that one upper bolt which needs thread sealant. I can't find anywhere if using it in those kind of temps is ok. It only mentions the operating temperatures, and that adjustments can be made for up to I think 24 hours after application.

But will it set up in winter temps? I don't have access to a garage. Well...not one that'll fit my camper.

Anyone know?

I do most of my major work in the winter and never noticed any problems .

I think the cure time may be longer .

To tell the truth I never even thought about the colder temperatures.

I've never seen it done but you could try a low powered heat lamp directed at it.

Ok, thanks. I won't worry about it too much. I'll just pick the warmest day I can to do it.

Anyone have a link of exactly what they use for that bolt? I have stuff I used last time, but after searching around a bit online, I'm questioning whether I used the right stuff.

Getting my head rebuilt this winter, replacing that o ring, and hopefully I'll be good for a while. Considering putting the thinner, 1995 front seal in my front, too...but I don't think that's what's leaking. The oil pump wasn't leaking oil before I did this job, so I'm guessing I just pinched that o ring or something.

If I could just do the oil pan gasket, I'd be leak free...
