You will not realize how spoiled you are by radial tires until you run some bias-plys. Seriously, this has to be one of the greatest automotive technical advances EVER.

On-road, yes, radials by al means. But off road, it is hard to beat a bias ply tire. I ran some 33x15.50 Swamper TSL-SX bias plys and they were awesome. You could air them way down until the sidewalls wrinkled and they would stick to anything. And never had a sidewall cut in all years I ran them.

But on the road, I lost a gear over the same size radial tire and they flat spotted every time you parked.

I rocked a pair of BFG 33x10.50 Mud Terrain bias ply and a pair of BFG 33x12.50 Mud Terrain bias ply on highway use this summer. Honestly, the road noise isn't that bad and not once did I notice any flat spots.

And as stated in the article and by 4Crawler, they are great offroad.

**Edit: Woops, they were radials, not bias ply

Unless they were REALLY old, the BFG's were radials...

I won't argue about the offroad capabilities of bias, but unless the thing is on a trailer the whole way, they ain't worth it. The newest radials like the Procomp Xtreme MT have narrowed the gap considerably.

Pretty sure they said bias ply on the side wall...

To be honest I'm not exactly sure, I sold the 10.50's a couple months ago, but I'll check the 12.50s tomorrow. After all, I am human, and it is entirely possible I am wrong.

And If I am wrong, that would explain the good road manners haha.

**Edit: Yup, I was wrong. Good call guys
