Timing Chain

Wondering what else i should change on my first timing chain swap second engine, no clue actual mileage

another question do i have to remove the head when I do this the book and all data says should but. Is it necessary

Head removal is not technically necessary, but I always do and replace the head gasket at the same time.

22RE motors are resiliant, but Toyotas specs call to replace the timing setup and head gasket at a regular interval. Those are the two weak points on a 22R/E motor, so if you replace them at the same time, the motor will last for a very long time.

how long does it take without taking off the head something i can do after work or a weekend project. I work at a shop and its estimated time is 7.5 hours with head removal

So Im doing the timing chain as we speak and Im trying to figure out how to get the back alternator bracket bolt off. Its being blocked by the power stearing. Do i have to remove this?
