It depends on how much the paint costs

Put a under the hood light on today. Got it for $2 at the junkyard. Can be found on a late 90's Chevy truck or SUV.

I wired my voltmeter directly to the battery . I tried wiring it to the ignition switch so it would turn on with keys in the ignition , but the reading I got with that was always a little innaccurate ( according to my handheld voltmeter ).
I just learned something. I didnt even think about that. Who would of thought the ignition circuit has less volts.

Any ways. Mine is wired through the ignition circuit and has always been a little different then the actual battery voltage. I just figured it was cheap and inaccurate. But always wondered since its spot on when the vehicle is running. 14.4 at the voltmeter and 14.4 at the batteries.

I have already shown this off on here several thousand pages back. But figured id show my super clean install on more time.

I added a simple two way switch next to my voltmeter so that I could turn it on or off when I needed to . The voltmeter to the battery now is only a couple hundredths of a volt off from my handheld....

I'm liking these volt meters. I guess the next thing I'll have to do is make a switch panel under my radio and put in one of those volt meters. For $11.00, why not?

EDIT: I can get the same meter cheaper on ebay. A cheap mod that's now even cheaper!

EDIT 2: However, the ones on ebay will take between 1 and 2 months to ship

Bump! Here a re some of my cheap mods. Interior LED's which is turned on and off with an extra 'window lock switch' Added map pockets because I don't have an SR5 model. Repainted rear panels. (Not really a mod but oh well) Yellow headlights. (Not really a mod either but it gives it a unique look)
