Howed you mount it up ? Looks nice

I took a deer horn and cut it off. Drilled through it with my smallest bit till I got to the size of the threads on the shifter and tapped it. Takes time but looks cool in the end. And the only cost is a seers life haha. I also made a t shifter with an old duck call I had. Same process
Obviously my hope is that nobody has to get in a wreck like that, but I don't even think it would take much of a tilt into a Gulch to drop you right on to that antler , which COULD, not likely but could take out your liver!

I salute your originality, ingenuity and, well, I don't like to naysayer out on ppl.... But, while I'm sure you may have thought of this... You're going to skewer yourself in the leg. Or worse! I had a near fatal wreck where I flatlined more than once, and one of the things that occurred was that I was thrown toward the passenger side, and my head literally wound up in the footwell , more glove box area, off the passenger side of the truck. In the process, my seat belt got somehow wrapped on the transfer case shifter, keeping me from later becoming decapitated , but not before that shifter nearly went right through and into my chest. Instead it just completely fractured my ribs, maybe 3, punctured a lung and along with that I fractured my skull and broke many additional bones.... Obviously my hope is that nobody has to get in a wreck like that, but I don't even think it would take much of a tilt into a Gulch to drop you right on to that antler , which COULD, not likely but could take out your liver!
I have already thought of the wrecking process. It has cuts in places around the threads. So that it will break if over so many pounds is applied. I tested that with the horn you see in the picture. The left over horn was the one being used. And all points are facing the fire wall. If I'm in a wreck bad enough to pull me from my seat the antler will be the least of my worries but I thank you for your concern. This post wasn't to convince people to all use these items but to make your rig fit you a little better if there is something that describes you and will physically work. To turn on the light switch for other creative ideas to keep our trucks as unique as the people who sit in the drivers seat.

I can't say I'm a fan of the antlers, but what you used as a knob on the transmission shifter is pretty cool! When you shift, do they ever hit each other?
Wow Mark, I've read that same story multiple times and it still amazes me. It creates a very intense and scary scene in my head. That must have been one long recovery process...

Thanks man! A wood call might of worked better it's just hard to get the threads right. With plastic they just want to start to strip. But when it's said and done you can defiantly bat yourself on the back lol

I wired my voltmeter directly to the battery . I tried wiring it to the ignition switch so it would turn on with keys in the ignition , but the reading I got with that was always a little innaccurate ( according to my handheld voltmeter ).
I added a simple two way switch next to my voltmeter so that I could turn it on or off when I needed to . The voltmeter to the battery now is only a couple hundredths of a volt off from my handheld....
