Seafoam Injector / Intake Cleaner = GOOD STUFF
#101
Is anyone else going to try the trans stuff yet? I'm interested to see how other people like it. I'm seriously considering using it so my shifts will be firmer. Will it lessen the amount of time the TC is unlocked? I hate it when it's unlocked.
Sorry, don't know about holding the throttle to keep your engine running. I would just pinch it like suggested earlier.

So should I change my plugs after doing this? I will probably add a can through the PVC and then one or two in the gas tank.

A couple of days ago I said:
And, I've now gone through that next tank of gas...
17.44mpg. This is my best tank since September of last year, which includes a couple of tanks using Chevron injector cleaner. My norm has been around the mid 15's with an occasional low 16. I'd say that SeaFoam ROCKZ.

I'm still shocked at how much my mileage went up as well. I'm thinking of adding some to the crankcase about 100 miles or so before my next oil change and see what that does...

Very informative thread!
I just bought 3 cans of SeaFoam myself. Used the PCV method 4 times with a 1/3 can each time. The first time after I let it sit for a few minutes there was a ton of blue/white smoke. After the 4th go-round, though, there was hardly any. I also changed my oil and used a half a can in the crankcase and put the rest in the gas tank and filled up at the station.
It feels like it idles smoother and the throttle respose is quicker - but it could all be in my head.
Will calculate gas mileage in about 5 days.

Ok, I've used sea foam for years, and I've noticed a couple things, some aren't mentioned. One, I've never hydrolocked a motor, but i pour it slow to make sure you don't. Also, if you're motor is really really dirty, I've had troubles with all that gunk comin out the exhaust pipe reaking havok on an O2 sensor. I'e also had it eat plugs in the same scenario. Sooooo if you're planning on doin a tune up which involves changing the plugs and O2, run the stuff first, wait until no more blowing smoke, then change it the stuff out. I learned the hard way, brand new O2 and ran Sea foam, cleaned the heck outta my truck, but ate my O2. oh well, live and learn.

I should have thought about that, But My o2 sensors are blown already. Im gonna order that one from gadgets site, that allows the use of high flow cats.

I got a 60K coming up soon that I'm going to do most of myself. Just did the seafoam and after the treatment I threw a Check Engine light.
1. You think this is the O2 sensor as it was billowing white smoke like the batmobile as was stated above?
2. I know I can go to an AutoZone and get the CE checked, but can they clear it if I replace the O2 sensor?
3. How much is an O2 sensor and how do you install such a critter?
Thanks for the help guys! Cough cough cough cough...

Brian-
02 sensors are easy to replace. Definitely have them check the code for you. I believe the code will clear after you fix the problem and pull the neg from the battery.
Mark (midiwall) had a thread a while back regarding 02 sensors. I think it was around $90. The one in front of the cat is the important one.
There you go stinky.

Well after blowing out the gunk goind down the highway this morning, when I got in the rig to go to lunch, no more CE light!
But I'll clean the TB, MAF and 02 anyway just as part of my 60K maintenance. Thanks for the replies guys! Now I gotta find 2 more cans to put in the gas tank this evening!

Anyone got a pic of the proper place to suck the stuff up in a 3.slow? I don't want to hydrolock the rig!
