hey everyone, this is for the ppl interested in the sea foam for automatic transmissions...called sea foan Trans Tune. I guess i was the only one in this forum to have the guts to try this stuff on a high milage trans....well i did. My car has 140,000 miles on it and has been neglected and serviced like ˟˟˟˟ in the past. This was one reason i didnt wanna use this stuff at firstcause i didnt wanna free up too much harmful sludge, varnish, and gum. Anyways i used it, the bottle says drive at least 5 miles with it in ur trans...i drove about 75 miles with it in my trans. It also says change the fluid and filter after. I just took off the pan, change the fluid and cleaned the pan and magnet. Left the filter where it was without changing it cause it only had 9 thousand miles on it. ANyways...the result was, i notice much better and smoother shifting...MUCH BETTER
i guess it was pretty noticable for me cause my trans was getting all dirty and worn out..so this stuff did alot of good.
Dont be scared to try this stuff out ppl
its worth $4.99 instead of waiting till ur trans goes out or gets super bad

wish i could do this but the dude that had my truck befor me cross-threaded the spark plugs so i had to lock-tight them to make them seal. so now i don't reall want to pull them out and put new ones in cuz i just don't want to mess with the plugs.

i got a check engine light, is it related to the seafoaming? i seafoamed 1000 miles ago. checked it out at autozone, error code, P0133, which is the O2 sensor... anyone else have this problem?

Ok so it has taken me two days to read through this very informative post.
I have terrible luck when it comes to cars so I am hesitant, but willing and looking forward to giving the SeaFoam a try. I just want to make sure I do everything right AFTER I use it.
Questions:
The likely complications that could occur are 02 sensors getting clogged, what about the Catconverter?
The Spark Plugs will get gunked up. What is the longest they can go like that without replacing them? I will be doing a tune-up in January when at my in laws...he is a mechanic. I just wanted to know If I could do the seafoam now and drive it for a month or so like that.
You should change your oil within a couple days of the treatment correct?
Is putting through the pcv valve more effective than the brake booster line?
Should you put it through both to target both sides of the engine case?
What is the best way to clean the MAF and also the 02 sensors if they get plugged up. Are 02 sensors easy to access and remove to clean once you are under the car?
Thanks for the input for whomever decides to tackle this post...I am learning a lot!

By the way I have a 99 4 runner SR5 with 134 K on it.
What is a decent brand of plugs and wires to get for this truck?
And can anyone identify the BRAKE BOOSTER and PCV valve for me on the 3.4 engine that is in the 99 Sr5s. I just want to be certain that I am putting it in the right place.
thanks.

PLUGS: Denso or NGK (best are the denso plugs from your dealer)
WIRES: OEM from your dealer, but they should be fine.

You mentioned "from your dealer" is it not advantageous to get them from a Napa store? What do the Denso or NGKs run price wise and are they fairly easy to gap? I have never done my own plugs before, but I have watched it be done and it seems simple enough.

Also what do the NGK or Denkos run cost wise? Are they fairly easy to gap properly? I have never done plugs myself before, but it looks simple enough.
thanks.
edit: sorry about the double post...for some reason I thought the first one did not go through.

I run NGK's on mine and haven't had a problem with them. cost is about 1.30 a piece (give or take some depending on what kind of plug you get.) Gapping is easy, just buy a spark plug gapper or a set of feeler gauges, and check your truck for the proper gap (if I remember correctly it says what the gap is on the sticker under the hood), then set the plugs to the spec.

mine went up and stayed up for a while, then with over 115k, my front O2 started crapping out. i just replaced it, and my mileage appears to be back up.
clean your MAF and your front O2 sensor.
