Okay everyone let's see some pics of your system...

okay everybody, the threads are up saying let's see other kinds of pics, but let's see some of your system pics and the db you've hit with it, even if it's something small or something huge. i would put pics of mine up, but it was recently stolen and the pics of it are on the computer back home (i'm in college now). but my system was:

3 Pioneer Premiers 12-inch 4-ohm DVC
3000.1 Power Acoustik class D amp - 2300 watts rms
Rhino-lined slot-ported box
JVC Arsenal Head-unit
Pioneer REV Series door speakers
I consistently hit 162 db with this setup...

I am putting together a kick@ss system, I still need a sub woofer and an amp, I have them picked out, that will be the final phase of my system.

Here is what I have so far.
Pioneer AVIC-D3 server, DVD NAV

Also a good movie of it here

Pioneer Sirius tuner

Focal 165V2 components

Infinity Kappa 3.27CF rear speakers

Alpine PDX-4.100 amp to run the speakers

Front door Dynamat Xtreme two door kit

Phase III will be another Alpine amp, the PDX-1.600 mono amp, and a JL W6 10" sub in a custom enclosure.

No idea what the DB is, I just like good quality and clear music with tight bass.

that things were loud..that system is not in my 4Runner anymore. I used to run that system for a couple months. I broke the upper console(lights area, you know what I mean?). I dont want to things to falling apart.

dang, awesome system you had there. i wonder if it would've been louder with both the speaker and port facing the rear, as i got the most output from mine this way. what kind of db did you get with this?

Well I'll make fun of myself for now

Sony CDX-4050 CD/AM/FM Stereo, with 2 160 watt speakers.
Uniden Pro 520XL CB

Nothing Fancy, but it gets the job done.

i'd really like my 4 runner to just have a deck and door speakers. I did some cool stuff last year on a customers escalade. Type r Components in oak trim panels.

was pretty posh.

Thanks man. You got any pics of your system? It's hard to believe that you hit 162db. What meter was it? Termlab? Audiocontrol?

The ported box is specially made for honda crx. That ported box is called "crx box style". It works best in the CRX. That would work fairly well in the other vehicles like large suv or compact hatchback cars. I think the crx box style works well in my 4Runner but sounds much louder in my CRX. It's brutal. I learned stuff from termpro.com. For those who is bass freaks, go to that site Yes it decrease my health

Sweet and simple, sounds good and loud enough for me in the vehicle since I have no need to annoy/impress strangers 12 cars away and the sub is easy remove for utility purposes.

got the box built before i lifted my truck, and it was too damned expensive to pull it out and put something cheap in its place. when i get that new tacoma however i do plan on pulling the box out and just leaving the headunit and components in the 4runner. i will say this, it plays some dave matthews and pink floyd at ear splitting levels!!

naw man, i wish i had pics of it, but they're on another computer back home...if i can remember when christmas break gets here, i'll post 'em up. but i'm not sure what type of meter it was with, but it was done in the outlaw style competition, where the meter is put just inside the port, about 2-3 from the end of it. i know, it's a lot higher than the numbers of say putting the meter on the dash or something, but it was beatin' louder than some people who were running 3 L7s and 3 7500s, so i was happy with it...

You will get alot lower number on the dash than meter in the port.. It is the best way to meter is on the dash. If you want to meter in the outlaw compeition ie: windows down or door opens or even in the port. It'll read higher.

Cant fit much in the first gen, Currently none but I have this laying around:

Panasonic CQC7401 Deck
Soundstream L.O.S. series 4" speakers for the doors
Kenwood 4" speakers in the doors using them as tweeters, and mostly to fill the stock speaker hole because the Sound streams are too deep and the window wont roll down with them in that location.

I barley ever listen to music while im driving, just have the radio quiet most of the time so im not too worried about a system for the truck, The little 4" Sound streams are pretty loud for what they are anyway.

System in my car:

Kenwood deck (2005 top of the line)
JBL 6.5" components (Doors)
Soundstream L.O.S. 6x9's (Rear)
2 JL 10" subs
Alpine 700watt Mono amp

As loud and clear sounding as id want a car system to be, no point in putting big $ into something I dont use that much, I got the Subs, Amp and JBL speakers for free so cant complain!
