Just got Amer Racing steelies - need new lug nuts?
Got a set of AR767 steelies mounted with 34x9.50 SuperSwamper TSL's to use for 'wheelin'. Looks like there will need to be some "rub remediation" techniques employed due to the 4" backspacing (although this makes the edge of the tire come out the same as the 33x10.50 "road" tires)
The current wheels are the double-four spoke SR5 alloys, and have the lug nuts with the little extension/sleeve below the washer.
For the steel rims, do I need new lug nuts that allow the washer to get up flush to the rim?

Tanto is correct, you will need the acorn style nuts. The tire store had the basic ones for 1.95, but I didn't feel like spending 50 bucks for my offroad set. He let me take home the bucket of used nuts and I was able to find enough to use. They don't all match, but the fronts match and the rears match, plus they were free.

So I take it that you're saying that there is about a 45 degree groove around the holes in your wheels, right? The acorn-style nuts have a matching groove that will mate perfectly with the groove on your wheel.
Any other lug has a sort of sleeve that has a washer stuck to the lugs.

As for the sig comment ... maybe I need to change it to mod during the week, wheel on the weekends!

Once I get these wheels to fit, the mods will definitely be done for quite a while!
